  1. People view different styles of play and eras differently and, since it's all just opinion-based anyway, I'll never really question anyone who ranks any one of LeBron, Kobe, Wilt, Bill Russell, Dr. J, Magic or Bird as the greatest player ever... ... after Jordan.
  2. We were just using it as an example of a well-known company and whether or not they would change the coloring of their logo in a given situation.
  3. No, because the Mariners play in MLB... in the U.S. Here, their magenta logo is far more prevalent and there is far more competition from other carriers which makes the need to distinguish themselves from the others more important. And, as @gosioux76 mentioned, it would merely be a sleeve patch, not fully across the chest, which makes their signature branding/color even more crucial.
  4. So you really believe T-Mobile would be willing to have their logo on a Mariners jersey in navy and northwest green?
  5. Well given that they could only max out at 12 games including the playoffs, I mean..., yeah.
  6. Not a splitting between the cities, just simply relocating the Rays to Miami.
  7. Jeff Fisher has resigned as Michigan Panthers head coach. https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/02/03/jeff-fisher-resigns-michigan-panthers-usfl-mike-nolan
  8. I've always thought they should have moved the Rays to Miami so that they'd get a new stadium and Miami would finally get a well-run, always-contending team. But there is no way contraction will ever happen, so they would've just been relocated.
  9. Who else are you going to contract in this situation? Can't just be one team.
  10. No, it appears it's on either side dependent on whether or not the player is left or right handed, batters and pitchers. I don't know what they'll do with switch hitters.
  11. If they had done it in black lettering like the logo below, it would've looked a whole helluva lot better (relatively speaking). 4in x 4in is too big for a sleeve patch. I would've maybe settled for 4x2 max, 4in tall x 2in wide or 4in wide x 2in tall, depending on the natural orientation of the logo. That or maybe 3x3 max.
  12. I think, if the Texans went with the red helmets full-time, they could go red over navy over red, like the Memphis Express did (minus all the gradients and side-paneling). Houston's navy is darker, but would work. Leave the numbers white, as well.
  13. I've been under the impression from folks around here who live in the area, that the location of Tropicana Field in St. Pete is one of the big drawbacks (in addition to the abandoned Home Depot they play in) in regards to local attendance. That nobody likes making the drive on a daily basis, as would season ticket holders specifically. Wouldn't building a new stadium in that exact location kinda be counterproductive?
  14. The Texans are not (and probably never will) switch to columbia and red. A. It's the Titans's (former Houston team) colors and B. They're named the "Texans" with the state flag in their logo. A flag which is colored navy, red and white. It ain't ever happening.
  15. A couple things, First, did the Mariners ever wear their light blue Spring Training jerseys during the regular season, or are they including ST jerseys in the 4+1? A lot of teams, such as the Cardinals, use them for ST and BP, but have never worn them in a regular season game (although I think they have openly discussed it). Does that mean they and any team that already has 4 in addition to ST jerseys have to ditch one? Second, just an observational opinion, but, as most have mentioned the Rays using the light blue jerseys on the road and hoping they match the pants, most likely the navy is gonna be the default primary aways since that's when the mostly wore them. This was your daily dose of inspirational, thought-provoking commentary. Carry on.
  16. XFL 2020 shut down because of COVID. St. Louis, Seattle, Houston, Dallas and basically DC were doing pretty well. If they had been able to finish that season, they probably would've had a second one, which may have involved the franchise changes they've made for this season.
  17. That was kinda my whole point. Indigo said attendance is not a "make or break" for them and I was pointing out how they can't survive on that alone, long term, which is why they're building towards having teams in their own markets, which, in turn, will need to average more than the previously suggested 5,000 that Highmark can hold.
  18. If attendance isn't important, then why did they not keep all of the games in Birmingham again? They still need people to show up. They're not gonna survive solely on televising a league playing games in front of empty stadiums.
  19. It is, in fact, NOT correct. My siblings and cousins think I'm crazy after I went off on these when one of my brothers texted it out to us. Then number font more like what the Rams used, pre-navy/metallic gold. They did used to use a thicker font in the early 80s, but it was still a varsity font. PLUS, the number is centered at the bottom of the jersey instead of to the left and somewhat up under "ISSOURI". Speaking of "ISSOURI", while the font is basically the same, it's thinner on the "new" ones.
