  1. My guess is San Diego (based on infrastructure being already in place, i.e., Snapdragon Stadium). And I expect Indy to be added to the "beyond 30" list with their pending new stadium plans.
  2. Now I can't unsee how the top "fangs" are basically the same size and and parallel even though one is supposed to be on the other side of the mouth. Further proving my theory that these were merely reproductions done of the originals while adhering to the theoretical "20% change" rule. Why? I have no idea. I'm sure the trademarks to the 2020 versions were included in the sale (see Renegades). None of them, save for Houston, and maybe the Vipers, were improvements. DC and maybe Seattle were lateral, at best, while the rest were downgrades.
  3. Yeah, but in comparison, the Battlehawks-Brahmas aired Sunday at 3pm ET and pulled in 1.57 million. The Daytona 500 aired at the same time, basically (2:30pm ET).
  4. And they didn't go up against the NBA All-Star Game and the Daytona 500.
  5. It kinda feels like Boise State's football program has leveled off at a bottom Top 25/just outside the Top 25 team. Respectable, no doubt, but given that football is really the only legitimate positive for that school, are they really worth targeting for a power 5 conference? If the Pac-12 managed to keep the remaining schools plus add SDSU and SMU, I'd say no. They'd still be a power 5 conference, albeit, not as strong, but would probably have higher standards than Boise state. If they split up with the "4-corner schools" going to the Big 12 and Oregon/UW + maybe Stanford to the Big Ten, then I could see them bringing in Boise State, but moreso simply for numbers.
  6. They mentioned that they scaled back promotion and that viewership is about where they were expecting, so at the moment I'd say they're gonna be ok... for now. If they are able to complete the season around projections, maybe they'll look for improvement by relocating franchises that struggle to cities that would expect to fare better, like San Diego.
  7. Zooming in on it, it almost looks like a snakeskin pattern roughly shaped like Liberty Bells (not sure if that was the intention). Or at least generic bell shapes.
  8. And the conference is desperate to maintain some presence in Southern California.
  9. Should'VE is clearly not a contraction of "should of".
  10. I feel like the XFL is set-up better for players who were on NFL rosters during the season, but didn't play or get a lot of playing time. They're in playing condition, but don't necessarily have the wear and tear of a full NFL season. Whether they're free agents or if NFL teams would allow these players to play for the XFL, not having to wait 3-4 months for the USFL to begin would probably be more appealing to them. The USFL on the other hand, while it starts months after the end of the NFL season, it does, itself, end closer to NFL training camps, which means they may be better suited for those looking to potentially break into an NFL roster ahead of camp.
  11. Yes it would look ridiculous, seeing that many people in a stadium with nothing going on, because and average attendance of 5k-7k would almost inevitably result in the dissolution of the league. (yes, yes, after they can't solely rely on the FOX television money anymore.)
  12. I hope it's simply because of the cost.
  13. Charlotte, St. Louis and Sacramento were all announced at the same time, with Charlotte being first due TO them already having a stadium. St. Louis and Sacramento were to be 29 and 30 and start in 2022. Sacramento was pulled because one of the key members of the ownership group backed out. THAT'S why they don't have a team right now.
  14. I agree that I don't like simply "Vegas" being used in the Big 5 (I get it, they didn't want the Golden Knights to be a 4-word name), but here , it doesn't feel awkward and out of place. Plus vipers ARE relevant to the region, and the alliteration works well.
  15. I will say "Vegas Vipers" works, but "Orlando Guardians" does not. Hell, "San Antonio Guardians" arguably would've made more sense than Orlando.
  16. Other than the Renegades now-secondary, formally primary, all the returning logos went through some kind of revision, like someone said, "here, re-draw the original logo the best you can and we'll use that one." Seriously, it was like a quick vectorization that we often have to do at work. Like, "heh, close enough." Battlehawks, Sea Dragons, Defenders and Guardians basically all had it done. Vipers looks pretty different. And the Roughnecks, obviously, had to change theirs. Although theirs was the only one really for the better.
  17. Umm, baseball doesn't have a salary cap.
  18. Always? The Dodgers (2020) and the Braves (2021) are literally the only teams to have done that. (And the stars weren't gold)
  19. I don't think government agencies are gonna be using taxpayer money to buy ad space on baseball jerseys. Or I would hope not.
  20. I don't think the Raiders will allow them at Allegiant or Sam Boyd, so this was their only option. Yeah, I agree. Probably a one and done situation. If you think about it, at a capacity of only 12,500 at Cashman Field, if they don't sell out every game, it's essentially a failure. Memphis finished 13th in attendance when combining the AAF and XFL 2020 season with an average of 12,944. That's over 400 more than capacity for Vegas. Sure, if they average capacity, one could make the argument that they were limited and that really it's a good market. Fine. But you also set yourself up for the slimmest of margins between success and failure.
