  1. So, evidently, they ARE doing divisions. DC, ST. LOUIS, SEATTLE & VEGAS in the North. ARLINGTON, HOUSTON, ORLANDO & SAN ANTONIO in the South.
  2. I actually think the complete opposite of that. The Angels is fine (maybe a small tweak or something), but the Nationals need to find one identity and stick to it.
  3. There are clearly 3 levels of football at the moment; Power 5, Group of 5 and FCS. You can't deny this. How's separating them into those 3 levels so that all of a respective shot at a championship dropping anyone down? So because they're better than FCS they have to settle for losing at FBS? Just like they separated Division I into 2 different divisions before, it's time, based on the current state of college football, to separate them into thirds.
  4. No. I don't believe ANY of that. You are clearly looking at this as a die-hard Group of 5 supporter (which is fine) rather than as an objective observer. The decrease in value, both monetarily and in quality of play, is not worth the risk of smaller schools elevating to a consistent level of that of Power 5 schools, therefore the powers that be are not gonna take the chance at diluting the CFP just to appease smaller fanbases. And this whole "class warfare/changing society" approach you're taking to college football is not doing you any favors. I'm actually finding it quite hard to take you seriously on the subject.
  5. The 5 G5 conferences are not on the same playing level as the Power 5. That's just reality. Can the occasional school BE better. Sure. But there are gonna be 12 spots. There are 10 FBS conferences. Not only the loss of quality of play, but giving away 5 of those spots to G5 champs (outside of the one guaranteed spot) lessens the overall value of the CFP games. They're not gonna risk that. So if you want to see more G5 schools competing for a championship, it's gonna have to be because the power 5 schools moved up (or out of the NCAA, which does not appear likely, at this time). Sorry, but that's the reality.
  6. Well, realistically, that's not gonna happen. So either move the Power 5 up into their own so the Group of 5 schools can have their own, or continue to be happy with one, maybe 2, schools getting in each year.
  7. Some schools like North Dakota State could probably move up to FBS and be able to compete with the current G5 schools, which would allow more opportunities for FCS schools to win.
  8. This is just one conference commissioner, but it doesn't seem imminent, regardless. https://www.on3.com/news/jim-phillips-provides-key-update-future-power-five-ncaa-acc-sec-big-ten-big-12-pac-12/ I, personally, think they should create a third DI level for the power 5 conferences. Give them a little more autonomy if they want, but still under the NCAA "umbrella". This would allow group of 5 schools a legit shot at a national championship on their level.
  9. Or take out their best player earlier in the game (and permentently) and force someone else to take the final shot later.
  10. No, you turn it off right as their jumping for it and then watch them all pile up on top of each other. Then the visiting team gets to chuck water balloons at them as a consolation prize.
  11. You've got Orlando City and Atlanta United fans preemptively writing into their respective teams demanding they do not even consider doing this for their match.
  12. Frickin lasers, man. But seriously, that would be a great idea. Some type of censor field that only activates on a field goal/extra point attempt. If used in college, would remove the problem of students bringing down the goalposts after an upset.
  13. But THEY'RE the ones who voted TCU into the playoff.
  14. St. Louis Community College is the Archers.
  15. It would be San Diego taking Vegas's (theoretical) spot.
  16. SDSC sharing a stadium with SDSU... on the former site of a stadium once known as SDCCU... Pass.
  17. The original "turquoise" was pantone 323, a slightly darker, more greenish shade on the "teal scale". The current color is pantone "319". A lighter shade on the bluer side. (For reference, the Marlins' original teal was 320, one point darker than the Diamondbacks' current color)
  18. Wouldn't a PACIFIC DIVISION of Seattle, San Francisco, LA Rams and the LA Chargers along with another division ("Southwest", "Mountain", whatever name) of Las Vegas, Arizona, Denver and Kansas City make more geographical sense and keep the Raiders-Broncos-Chiefs rivalry intact, as well as the Rams-49ers-Seahawks's?
  19. A little column A, little column C. Giants probably got cold feet (Correa does have a lengthy injury history) and maybe were hoping to lessen the amount of the deal when the Mets swooped in at the first sign of blood in the water. Although they did get him for cheaper than the Giants, so they're not entirely dumb.
  20. In reality, I see Oregon State & Washington State going to either the Big 12 with the rest of the leftover PAC schools, or ending up in the Mountain West. The rest of them will go Big 12-PAC "merger" if they don't get into the Big Ten. Honestly think the Big Ten's top choices are Oregon and Washington with Stanford. Utah and/or Colorado may be 4th/5th on the list.
  21. Oregon and Washington bring the Pacific Northwest markets (and Nike money, in regards to Oregon). They've been linked to the Big Ten as west coast travel partners for USC/UCLA (in addition to Stanford, IMO). It seems they're the top targets, ahead of Colorado, Utah and Stanford.
  22. Outside of Oregon and Washington, sure. But both of those schools will stay in one of the Power 5. I think they're headed for the Big Ten, but at minimum, Big 12 if the PAC doesn't survive on it's own. Also, the Big Ten will never be known as anything other than the Big Ten. No Big 18.
  23. Is this a leak for the Twins's new Metrodome-era fauxback red alternates?
