  1. Football teams shouldn't retire numbers. Isn't practical. Any numbers that are retired should be thrown back into circulation. Want to honor team legends? Go with a Ring of Honor.
  2. The Cubs wore these awful alternates in 2014 and 2015, and Kris Bryant was there for just 2015. When the book on his career is written, there won't be many pictures of him in these... things.
  3. In 2014, Uni Watch wrote something about this unveiling. http://www.uni-watch.com/2014/10/08/arizona-diamondbacks-used-phoenix-suns-players-for-their-original-uniform-unveiling/
  4. From left to right: Danny Manning, Jerry Colangelo, Danny Ainge, Wesley Person, Paul Westphal, Kevin Johnson. At the time, all were members of the Phoenix Suns. This could also go into the Players in the Wrong Uniform thread as well. Hahaha.
  5. I think a case can be made that the one on the right isn't wrong. He wore that in the 1971 World Series, which was his transcendent moment. It's also what he was wearing when he got his 3,000th and last hit. Semi-related, has any team other than the Bucs ever changed from an excellent classic-style uniform to an excellent modern-style uniform like they did in the early 70s? Both are great.
  6. That's just wrong team. I know he broke in with the Bucs and ended his career in Pittsburgh, but his best (and most famous) years were with the Cubs. He was also on three playoff teams and hit a grand slam in the ill-fated 2003 NLCS. He was never appreciated like he should've been in Chicago, and after 2016 he never will be. Regardless, the Cubs are the right team for him.
  7. When they changed a couple years ago, I wish the Raptors would have gone with a cleaned-up the Vince-era uniforms. Really miss the purple.
  8. I see your MJ and raise you... And speaking of MJ, here he is in Converse.
  9. If you look closely, it appears the Celtics to Russell's right are wearing jerseys that say Boston.
  10. That's the 91-92 Bulls, and the black patch is for Sheri Berto. She died in Nov. 1991 and was an assistant to team owner Jerry Reinsdorf. The Bulls wore that patch all season. I know that's 1991-92 because No. 20 is Bobby Hansen, and he only spent that season in Chicago.
  11. Why couldn't they just change the decals and facemasks? Yeah, the satin/matte finish wouldn't be accurate but not a huge deal.
  12. I mocked up something similar in Madden. Used these helmets with the current white set and it looked really good.
  13. Even then, things didn't match entirely. The piping was different widths on the jersey and pants.
  14. I'd love to know what the designers of those Bills uniforms was thinking. None of the stripes match and there's no coherent idea. By far, the worst uniform in modern NFL history.
  15. That's one of the most fun games ever. It's perfection for SNES.
  16. Regardless of motive, he did play in the Sox organization.
  17. I don't mean to offend our friends north of the border, but this might be the most obscure reference in this thread.
  18. Every Browns concept I see like this frustrates me. This is just the latest excellent tweak of their set I've seen on the board, and it irritates me how close yet so far they are from a terrific update of their classic look.
