The jerseys are from the era that the Jets are throwing back to now. The helmet was the start of the next Jets era.

Those three are all also repeat countries for him... maybe it just felt like the right time to start a new era.

The league really should have stepped in and forced him to play there at some point.

Very weird, because he played against the Devils in that jersey when it wasn't a throwback. Red/green Devils and early Jagr overlapped by two seasons.

In addition to the NBC money and the local money, the NHL also gets CAD $433M/year for the Canadian rights. Does MLS have any international deals? MLS is probably not that close to the NHL, but it will be interesting to see what happens with them and TV sports money in general.

I mean... yeah... I see what they did there... It just didn't work. I think it's a fatal flaw of that logo. It's a "pregnant" emptiness. It's about as noticeable as cutting your ex's face out of a photo. Maybe stick a skyline in there and use it as a shoulder patch? I'm not sure there's a way to salvage it as a full time crest when you have such a beauty already sitting there.

Anything you're doing to supplant the classic logo is a misguided start. That old alt logo was interesting, but it felt and feels empty. I bought my wife one a million years ago, and the result of that logo in real life is that there's a lot of empty space. You're staring at a sea of black (or blue, in this case) twill where the buffalo should be. There's no need to slice and dice a great logo into its constituent parts; you end up with less than what you started with. The Gestalt theory of logo design.

Possibly a blessing in disguise, as those fans are "out of market" and can watch the Sabres games on NHL.tv instead of buying a cable package they may not want.

I think it's safe to say that adding a gradient is an unpopular opinion around here, but I would like to see the Bengals try a helmet with some subtle white countershading like a real tiger has.

The Cowboys' uniforms look fine on that pre-snap camera angle, but they fall apart quickly when you look any closer. I hate hate hate the black (navy?) outlines on the sleeves; there's no reason for it. It looks like they're always wearing an alt that they can't match the helmet to because of the one-helmet rule.

Sometimes it's wonky for me on mobile, but it works eventually. Maybe cancel the edit and try again?
