  1. Yet, I’m fine with it, because it’s at least a traditional jersey design and colors. Odd, but not as jarring as him in a Hornets’ jersey.
  2. I feel like they should be playing shirtless more than anything.
  3. I always found Robert Parish in a Hornets jersey the most jarring, especially considering they came along 12 years into his career. It's just sooooooooooooo wrong.
  4. Which sounds horrible and unfair ... but, let's be honest -- this is how we wish ALL sports teams were treated for trying to break their leases on stadiums built with public money.
  5. Why not California Angels and California Athletics? Who says both can't represent the state? I mean, we have the New York Mets/Yankees and Chicago Cubs/White Sox right now? Why not a state identifier? Just a thought.
  6. I like the idea of the Rays merging with the Marlins, rebrand to back to the Florida Marlins and play home games throughout the state -- Tampa Bay, Orlando, Miami, etc. That's the only way I see Florida baseball working. They can't carry the load of a 162 game season. With the extra spot -- I'd then expand to Montreal.
  7. The hawk also needs to lay off the Red Bulls.
  8. I never realized how close he was to sporting a pre-AD unibrow.
  9. Or Knights as was somewhat rumored before the move.
  10. This is probably best suited here. But, this is an article that claims the Vancouver Grizzlies and Charlotte Bobcats logos (even the New Jersey Swamp Dragons logo) were rejected names/logos for the Toronto Raptors. Pretty cool read.
  11. I don't know what's worse ... the top or the shorts with the dragon tail?
  12. Yup, on the shorts. If you haven't read the whole story, it's totally worth it.
  13. Well, and considering those saved us from this, I'm grateful for those gray uniforms.
  14. Dinking around Getty Images and I found a few fun pics ... A rare picture of Pete Maravich as a member of the UTAH Jazz (played only 17 games before being waived). Karl Malone in the Green Jazz Jerseys they stopped wearing before 1985-86 season. This was a game in SLC on St. Patrick's Day against Detroit.
  15. Yeah, I'm not sure if they wore the navy on gray for JUST that one season, but I did find some game pictures from GettyImages. For some reason I thought they had wide shoulders in the 2000-04 alternates? Hmmm ... fun find.
  16. Make the Los Angeles Sharkbears happen! You get the identity of the California Grizzly and the sharks off the waters of LA all in one name! PERFECT!
  17. I am pretty sure those were worn the first couple of years of that look's existence before switching to the white lettered version (with wider shoulder straps, I believe? The mothership has this worn from 1998-2000 And, this worn from 2000-2005 ...
  18. My question is will they go with XFL 2001 kind of names: Dallas Maniax Houston Force Los Angeles Inferno New York Force St. Louis Rampage Seattle Smash Tampa Bay Mutiny DC Guard ... or with more traditional names ... Dallas Express Houston Apollos Los Angeles Avengers New York Bulldogs St. Louis Scouts Seattle Kings Tampa Bay Marauders DC Destroyers It almost feels like they're going more on the conservative route. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they went the 2001 route. Maybe a mixture of both?
  19. Eh. I associate The Mailman with those, especially considering he wore those 4 of 5 seasons they were around.
  20. I would quip back to not tell the Pacers, but if that meant they'd get rid of the Hickory jerseys for good ... I'd be fine with that.
  21. The most jarring thing about Draymond here is that I associate that jersey and number with Jason Richardson. It's funny that I didn't really connect the shared number until these throwbacks.
  22. I would lean on nostalgia and local appropriate names ... New York Bulldogs D.C. Renegades St. Louis Stallions Tampa Bay Bandits Dallas Outlaws Houston Avengers Los Angeles Rhinos Seattle Sockeyes
