  1. The diamondback's black uniform with the teal has looked amazing.
  2. So did the Mariners ever reveal a uniform update? I thought that was supposed to happen.
  3. My comment was unclear but I was saying the public transportation is pretty serviceable, and the traffic in the metro is pretty good, all of which is evidenced by their #5 ranking in the "transportation" (both public and private) category. Here is an interesting image from the New York Times. Interactive version here. It is 10 years old but I'd guess things are mostly the same, probably with the Astros and Dodgers having grown their territorial strength due to having lots of success the past decade. Takeaways: -Yankees are basically the default popular team everywhere, especially along the entire eastern seaboard. They are probably numerically maybe the most popular team in Florida which explains why the Rays basically function as FenYank park south. -The Braves basically own the south. There are holes in Charlotte and Nashville but you're basically still in Braves country. This makes me wonder if Raliegh is actually the better long-term option for relocation/expansion, all things being equal. -New Orleans is up for grabs too. -Vegas is a Dodger stronghold. From an attendance standpoint you want the A's to be in the NL west to get those Dodger ticket sales. -Utah is a state of free agents, as they don't root for any of the "local" teams. -Mariners have a pretty strong reach into Portland. I still think a team could do well there but I think you'd want them to be rivals to the Mariners? Or maybe not. -unfortunately, no map of Canada, It would be interesting to see Montreal. By the criteria *of this map only* here is how I would rank expansion/relocation options: -Raleigh -Charlotte -Salt Lake City -NOLA -Nashville -Las Vegas (actually going to happen) -Portland
  4. It reminds me of Roku. So bad from that perspective, just makes me confused.
  5. He just needs to become a prime backup, get his paycheck, and eventually retire. At least that's what I'd do. Not cutout for starting imo. But then that's kind of a bad attitude for professional sports....
  6. I'm guessing they will haven't they had both?
  7. Nah you're good, I think we're agreeing more than disagreeing here. I don't think money-wise, they would be a money printer, don't misunderstand me. Moneywise MLB should probably just put a third team in New York (New Jersey Jerseys?). I guess I was thinking, "No corporate sponsors? Surely they could muster as many as Milwaulkee". But re: Delta, Delta's name is literally on the Utah NBA arena. A big sponsor. SLC is not their headquarters, but it is their western hub. So weirdly hostile. From living in 6 different states in all parts of the US and observing the culture and attitudes and preferences in each, what I've seen is that Utah people love sports, more than any other place I've been to, and I do not say that lightly. If you disagree, fine, but your experiences are not mine. I believe putting a team in Utah would mean adding MLB fans who would give a crap and if the team was competing, they would easily draw 80-90% all season long. They wouldn't make as much money as a big city team with a big TV deal and apathetic transplants. Definitely, but I'm not an owner counting dimes so I don't care. But some of the complaints are just weird. Hard to get to games? Utah has a great public transportation system that can take you right downtown all the way from the south of the valley. And the traffic is never bad. Check out where they're ranked here. Maybe it will make you laugh with joy at what a good transportation system it is: Rankings: Transportation - Best States (usnews.com) Now here is what is hard... getting to Oracle to see my Giants
  8. Matte looks weird in the NFL to me
  9. Reminds me of a AAA Reds team. Not a bad thing!
  10. SLC has no problem with corporate sponsors... some that come to mind are Delta and Vivint. Lots of tech money there. Adobe, Discover out there to. Small market yes but what are we asking for here? A 'big market' like the Bay Area? Or any of the cities in FL? Look how that's working out... Amazing how people will defend Oakland as if they deserve to keep their baseball team while a team with similar success would be selling out all season long in Salt Lake City. Utah grew 20% in the last decade. Youngest state in the US (demographic MLB supposedly cares about). Sport-obsessed state... literally women's soccer and gymnastics sell out there folks. And a sports-obsessed state with a hole in the summer. Football hasn't started yet, basketball is over. It's a good option.
  11. Brodie Brazil reaction, brings up the points I expected.
  12. Tampa Bay Rays look better now than they ever have. Should use more of the yellow though. Phoenix Suns orange bothers me for some reason.
  13. The font for the helmet letters looks very 60s to me for some reason.
  14. This is a great template you've used! Looks very 3d
  15. That's pretty solid! Simple but the red stripe gives it a good amount of flair.
  16. I want to heap praise on the Rockies. Their expansion cousins, the Marlins, Diamondbacks, and Devil Rays, have all had major uniform/branding changes at least twice. Two of them actually went as far as adjusting their full names. However, the Rockies have resisted that temptation and have stayed true and faithful to their original design. Some are haters, but The Rockies have build a look and a brand where others have fallen. I'd like to see them emphasize purple more, but even an adjustment like that wouldn't be a rebrand, just regular maintenance. Bravo, Rockies. Bravo, Dinger!
  17. Pretty exciting to see an MLB concept not from populus, the company that has designed basically every other stadium the past 20 years. I really like it. It's a really smart use of natural light and everything. Well done on their part. Still is strange how they have not released as detailed plans as the Kansas City Royals (who had a great concept that isn't even approved yet). Ballys initially claimed that they were building a big casino next to this so strange to hear silence from them on this, as I had assumed we were waiting on them for more stadium details. Brodie Brazil will be asking where the casino is and if this can really fit on 9 acres lol. However, I'm not a pure hater. As an architectural concept for a baseball stadium on the strip it's really good. Trying to look like the Sydney Opera House fits into Vegas' fakery and the view is really good, I didn't think they would manage a view.
  18. Surge is cool and what they would probably go with, but Joes is hillarious.
  19. Lol I'm dumb. Internet brainrot has gotten me to not scroll past the first picture now I guess.
  20. Rockies Officially Remove Black Jersey from Rotation – SportsLogos.Net News News from main site: they officially are removing black Rockies top from their rotation even though they haven't worn it in years. Also I assume the article is wrong and this means they and the Cubs are the only National League teams to not max out 4+1? Cuz I don't think Yankees or Tigers do either.
  21. To me this shows that SLC is probably THE #1 spot (for NOW), possibly exceeding Nashville. -Florida is not getting another MLB team*... lol. -Charlotte isn't getting a team if Nashville is (though, I think that they are possibly better option than Nashville), same with Raleigh. -Sacramento was only good for A's relocation -It seems unlikely they go for another Texas team, seems very possible the Rangers and the Astros could push back on that (though again, I think they are a good option). -Indianapolis... they would be another rust belt team. Their only rival is Portland, and I think they edge out Portland with bigger local backing. The thing that I can really see tipping the scales on this is if Phil Knight the Nike guy decides he wants to own a team... if that happens, game over SLC. But that isn't even rumored right now. SLC is rolling out the red carpet and has their stuff together in the way the A's were wishing Vegas did. Honestly if I were MLB in 2010 with the benefit of foresight, here's what I would do: -Move the Marlins to Las Vegas instead of LoanDepot park Ca. 2012. I look like a genius when gambling is more legalized and I beat out the VGK and the Raiders. -Move the A's to Sacramento or San Jose (would pay lots of $$$ to giants)... Sorry but only for sentimental reasons would you keep them in Oakland. I'd try to pull off Sacramento because that lets you "keep" their existing bay fanbase while kind of picking up a new area for MLB. -Expand to Salt Lake City and one of those Kentucky/NC areas. *If the Rays' situation doesn't settle they could end up in Orlando, however.
  22. Thank you! You never know how the locals will react so glad it got positive feedback from actual fans. I also posted it in the Guardians' reddit board and they liked it
