Oh absolutely. Two Bama teammates going at it, one who supplanted the other? Oh they'd eat that all up...that is, if the networks could get off Rodgers and/or Brady (or whatever going on in Dallas at that moment) long enough to acknowledge the two. And I'd be all for it. Getting back to Mr. Tagovailoa...we shall see how this investigation into concussion protocol goes and whether it really was his back (as team sources are now saying) that caused him to give out or if that was a cover-up; regardless, give the guy credit for getting back out there and leading his team to the dub. No he didn't set the field on fire, but he also didn't have to--his receivers played for him, and also credit Miami's defense for stepping up. At any rate, the guy won today, and that's the key takeaway. He won. And oh by the way, while we're talking about this--I suppose we should bring in Mike McDaniel for this part--this team just ran off three straight against Bill Belichick, John Harbaugh, and Sean McDermott, not to mention Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen back-to-back. So um...remember that 7-game winning streak they went on about halfway through last season? Perhaps that wasn't as much of a fluke as some might've made it seem? Perhaps that was a preview of what kind of team this could become, and is now showing they just might be? Folk better pay attention to what's brewing down there in Miami...they got something cooking, that's for sure. (IF Tua can stay healthy, that is. That's a BIG if.) On a somewhat different note, keeping it in state...don't look now, but the dang Jaguars are sitting up at the top of their division now. Yeah its a weak one, so--but who saw that coming this early in the season? They might be a team to keep an eye on going forward, too, if what they pulled off in LA is a harbinger of what's to come. (And I'd be all for that, too.)

And in other sock shenanigans, from what I saw exactly two Vikings players remembered to wear the correct purple socks: Patrick Peterson and Dalvin Cook. Everyone else went white for some odd reason....

Whoever they are, they must have taken to heart whatever memo circulated around the AFC South during the week demanding that the division reassert itself, becaus they won big while Tennessee won barely, and...the Colts beat the Chiefs.... (Apparently Houston missed the memo.)

Still got a quarter left, and don't look now, but Jacksonville is out west putting it on the Chargers. I figured they had a chance to win it close, did not expect this... (But again, still got a quarter to go.)

Okay, so...NOW will all the Tua haters shove it?? I called this one... Put some RESPECT on that boy's name!

Don't look now, but Tennessee--yes, them Volunteers--are sitting 4-0 right now after holding off and taking down Florida for the first time since 2016 and only the second time in dang near 20 years, leaving them swamp thangz sitting at 2-2. (And had Utah not come up short in that goal line stand UF would be 1-3 right now.) I can't remember the last time Tennessee looked even halfway competent; they seem to be getting that thang together down there on ol' Rocky Top. And also don't look now, but Florida State ain't wasting no time on Boston College, already up 21-0 in the first quarter. We'll see if they can pour more on while holding BC off...it'll say a lot about their mettle if they can blow BC out. But there's still three quarters to go, and my Seminoles ain't quite back jusssssst yet, so we'll see how this plays out.

Yeah...I think even the Jupiterians knew that KC/LAC game would land at the top spot, as it should be. That is about as beautiful a color contrast as one can ask for...and I love that the Chargers are embracing the yellow pants more. (I personally think they should be the primary, but they can't go wrong with white or yellow with either jersey.) As for CHI/GB...classic is what classic is, and that there was/is classic to the core. I personally prefer Chicago's navy pants with the white jerseys and socks (because contrast, man!), but then I also can't remember the last time they even wore white over white. What more needs to be said about BUF/TEN? I'd prefer the Bills not do blue socks with blue pants ever again, but we know they'll do it again. White socks under those blue pants would look so much better (as long as they're the striped ones). I'm not even gonna comment on Tennessee's...no point. I go back and forth on Seattle's sets...I never cared (and still don't care) for their overall uniform design, but those colors definitely play well under the right lighting, and that NorCal sun definitely brought that out. (The green accessories some of the players wore helped that out, too.)

And this brings up another point concerning color theory: certain colors work more effectively in limited doses. Yeah, they're the Golden Knights (only because the US Army wouldn't allow Bill Foley to use Black Knights; otherwise we're not having this discussion), but the original design of those sweaters served to highlight the gold in a way that helped it stand out against the darker gray and black. (For what its worth their gray sweaters are one of my favorites in the league.) Now that's been shoved to the side for MOAR GOLD and it just doesn't look right for a full-time look. That said, I also agree that the white parts of the "gold" jersey should probably be black, as well. Yo...what is up with that???

Ladies and gentlemen: welcome to the first full-on Snat-jack in CCSLC history. This is the first time I've EVER seen Tennessee get this much pub up in here But while we're talking about them... Setting aside the fact that I completely forgot Michael Oher (you know, the "Blind Side" movie guy) used to play for the Snatit--and we ain't even finna discuss Charlie Whitehurst right now (OH YEAH--SPEAKING OF BACKUP QBS!), that right there was a GOOD-looking uniform as a whole. Sure certain parts didn't look like they should go together (namely the helmet stripes and pants brasher stripes), but as a whole it emphasized their supposed-to-be-signature blue about as well as it could. (I also like that they began wearing white-on-white more often around 2013 and onwards; I think they did it only once prior to then.) The bigger point though is look at how much BRIGHTER that set looked...livelier, like an Impressionist painting from the Gilded Age. The white helmet helped that a lot...which is where the current uniforms fail hard from me. The whole thing is just so dark and drab now...and the two tones of gray do nothing to help that.

And speaking of (non-QB) players you go like, "He's still in the league?"...how about Marcedes Lewis?? I remember when he got drafted by the Jaguars dang near two decades ago, and he's still out there balling on the field. (He's with Green Bay, in case anyone's curious.)

Well...before Sunday that would've been Jimmy Garoppolo And yep...dudes like this. Now I actually remember Chase Daniel from his time at Mizzou (I still contend the uniforms they had while we was there were the best in that program's history--don't @ me), but it seems like he's become the modern-day Matt Cassel--and if EVER there was a poster child for backup QB, it's that guy. I mean, how do you get drafted into the NFL as a career college backup Seriously...dude backed up not one but TWO Heisman winning QBs, started exactly ONE game in college and somehow still got drafted, albeit in the seventh round. (Doggone Norm Chow, I tell ya.) Shoot, his NFL backup career may be even more ridiculous/remarkable than Chase Daniel's...

This is the same thought I be having in the preseason and/or when starting QBs go down and their backups come in. I be like, "WHO?" like, I hear of some college QBs going into the draft...but then you get to the preseason and wonder where half these dudes came from. Like Cooper Rush, Tyler Huntley (who I kept thinking was Brett Hundley from UCLA a couple years back), Mike White of the Jets, David Blough in Detroit...like who are these guys, and where the heck did they even come from, much less how'd they make it onto an NFL roster? (Oh yeah, the guy who backs up Joe Burrow in Cincinnati...never heard of him, either. I can't even remember his name; I just know I never heard of him.)

Yep, the Snatit getting smacked just like I (and every Martian with half a brain) knew they would...no wonder they dressed up in icy surrender whites tonight.

Don't forget about Florida State.... ...I don't care if it is barely by the skin of their teeth--the point is they're as yet undefeated. With that said, I still ain't finna proclaim the program as "back"--there's still a lot of things to clean up on both sides of the ball (turnovers on one side, wrapping up and tackling on the other, and of course the at-times-too-cute playcalls), BUT what I saw, and what we're seeing in Tallahassee right now, is a team that's bought in to Mike Norvell (as have now many more of the fanbase who were still skeptical of his ability to lesd this program), taking on his personality, and had learned to fight all the way until the end. Last year this team would've folded up like an old lawn chair after Jordan Travis got hurt; instead, they dug in and fought to the end. That displays the biggest change from last year to this one: heart. This team has boatloads of heart now, and that's a direct credit to Norvell. Now with all that said, the next few games will tell a bunch about just how deep that fortitude runs. That said, I'm loving the progression I'm seeing, because we all know they been butt for about six or seven years now...so I'm just enjoying this thing for what it is.

Yeeeeaaahhh y'all may wanna steer clear of Skip Bayless for the next 48 hours....

I don't remember if Cincinnati wore this combo at all last season, but doggone if this ain't a sharp set. It'll be interesting to see where this game lands on @infrared41's next uniform matchup rankings...personally it'd be near the top of mine.

Think it's about time to put some respeck on Tagovailoa's name. Six TDs, on the road? To lead a 21-point comeback? Against Lamar Jackson (who by the way definitely did his thing today)? Baltimore's back end is in serious trouble if they don't shore some stuff up quick...but credit Miami's defense for holding it down in the second half. Break up the Dolphins! (Yeah and I missed on this pick, too.)

It happened to close out last season, as well. With that said...it's been said a dozen times, and (though I'll miss on this pick) It's worth repeating again: When Pittsburgh loses, America wins. Now...just what the whole entire is going on in Baltimore right now?? (And why couldn't this game be the "national" early game??)
