  1. I always loved that set, too. They could have done without the hem scripts, but that was a solid set that actually had unique, tangible character. Well there went my shot at nabbing one, then...
  2. Went a solid .500 last week...right back in the middle of the pack where I belong Tennessee vs. Green Bay Chicago vs. Atlanta Philadelphia vs. Indianapolis (keep the crow on ice) NY Jets vs. New England Washington vs. Houston LA Rams vs. New Orleans Cleveland vs. Buffalo Carolina vs. Baltimore Detroit vs. NY Giants Las Vegas vs. Denver Dallas vs. Minnesota Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh Kansas City vs. LA Chargers San Francisco vs. Arizona
  3. The details are small nuances, but I can tell the new script was very obviously designed and optimized for use in the digital space--and given the world we live in now, that's no small consideration. Sure, the thing is also going across the chest of a jersey, but these days more people would be inclined to see it digitally before they see it (the script) physically, live and in person. All that said, I just noticed how much less of a join exists between the i and n in the new Twins mark; granted you can write a script that way, but it does seem somewhat unnatural. Either way, now I'll never unsee that.
  4. Ain't that what they did with Mookie Betts a couple years back? Or was there more to that whole ordeal?
  5. Oh fa' sho, this edition of the Vikings is legit. And now that I've seen the replay, if Buffalo wins, that Gabe Davis missed replay may be talked about for a good little bit...
  6. Aaaannnndd we get an extra frame in Buffalo. Just what the whole entire transpired there?? Wasn't Buffalo up by like close to 20 or something? I missed it while watching Jacksonville lose & the Snatit try not to Snat the game away (they held)...
  7. As it currently sits, the scary/frustrating thing is that Jacksonville could easily be tied, if not up, on KC right now. Two missed FGs and a TD called back due to an ineligible downfield which cost the Jags four more points (settled for a FG)--and then there was that costly turnover in the red zone where they probably would have scored. I'll be real: I didn't expect this much fight from the Jaguars. I throughly expected them to get the brakes beat off them. So I guess I'll now give Pederson some props for coaching this group up to the level they're at now. They still have a LOT of work to do yet, but I think they're trending in the right direction. It'll take some more time jelling and some obvious upgrades on the OL--you paying attention, Baalke??--but they actually might have something here. (I also saw that except for today, they've held a lead in every game so far.) Maybe next season they'll start winning these types of games rather than losing by two or three scores. Team is actually reminding me a lot of Florida State in terms of growing pains...maybe next season Jacksonville turns a corner??
  8. You know, if the Snatit stuck to this combo they're wearing today--and the one they wore last weekend--I MIGHT be inclined to actually not despise their current set...at least not completely. Keyword though being MIGHT... ...As for Jacksonville, it'd be nice if they wore their teal pants with black socks on the road--it's by far the best combo they have (which ain't saying much).
  9. They don't; everything looks to be single layer. And if it's appearing on the pennants that way, that all but guarantees those scripts (& numbers) will appear on the uniforms that way. That being the case--and part of me wonders if they were inspired to do that by looking at the TC lockup itself--then this would definitely be a unique (at least to MLB) way to present the most overused colorway in the bigs, and to great effect at that. There's something far, well, cleaner about single-layer scripts and numbers that sharpens the whole thing--especially when the letter and number forms are well crafted, as these appear to be. I know most would prefer--and are more used to--outlines, but I think the overall package actually appears stronger without, at least in this guise... ...Though I certainly wouldn't be mad about this at all.
  10. Speaking of fake 6-3 good teams in conference play...just what da heck, UK?? Vanderbilt just beat (soon-to-be used-to-be) #24 Kentucky...in Lexington...for their first SEC conference win in 26 games, going back to October of 2019. And wasn't this Will Levis guy projected to be a projected top QB pick in the upcoming draft? Questions abound...
  11. If all this is a harbinger of what's to be officially unveiled, then the Twins definitely went more Toronto Blue Jays/San Diego Padres with their rebranding. The linework and curvilinear forms are far cleaner and thus the scripts are much more legible. I don't yet think I've seen a script paired with a custom font aside from the brick and black Astros (though I could definitely be wrong), so I'm curious how that will look--more so whether the fronts of the jerseys will have numbers or not. I personally tend to favor front numbers, but I realize they don't look right in certain applications. All in all, if I can get through there next Friday--if they're even open--I'll try to see some of the new merchandise in person. Ninja edit: it looks like the Twin Cities pennants are cream/off-white paired with just navy. I wonder if any alt jerseys are planned with that specific colorway theme...it'd be boring as all get-out from a colorway perspective, but still clean-ish nonetheless.
  12. That's kinda what I meant. The difference in form is pretty noticeable from the top mark to the bottom--curvilinear versus rectilinear. I suppose one could massage both styles to an effective compromise (since to be real curvilinear probably has a bit more staying power and versatility), but given a choice I'd take an updated version of the bottom.
  13. I think at this point the Jets are too invested in their Jets Bold typeface to toss it aside wholesale--of course that's just speculation. I actually kinda like that typeface for what it is--but yeah, I think reviving an updated version of the more angular JETS mark would really help bring this brand all the way up.
  14. Well Pittsburgh is well past the days of the "gold mine" of pitching talent--and I don't long sicne lost count of what year they're on of the 5-year rebuilding plan...so eh, okay, I guess....
  15. At $200-something per hour*, that's gonna be a LOT of man hours...and a nice chunk of change out the NFL's pocket if anything in there goes to trial. *Basing that off the lawyer fees I dealt with--may be more for them, I'd assume.
  16. What even is a team identity in the NBA anymore??
  17. Since it appears the Jetjack is in full effect... ...I can't even believe I'm about to post this, but: I'm legitimately amazed and thus cannot believe how much these uniforms have grown on me! Granted, much of it has to do with the color green, but for what these are, they're actually really solid. I can even deal the green-on-green look, as well. But only these combinations. This, however, can get gone: (Along with the white-on-black they've been doing the past three weeks...that can get gone, too.)
  18. Pitchers and catchers fly in and report to Bradenton February 15. That team will be mathematically and realistically eliminated from playoff contention before the first plane even reports long final for approach.
  19. Is there something I'm missing in Atlanta spotlighting their black helmets?? That said, let's all hope the Falcons bookend their white-on-whites with black socks...
  20. Week 10 schedule: Atlanta vs. Carolina Seattle vs. Tampa Bay Detroit vs. Chicago Cleveland vs. Miami Denver vs. Tennessee Minnesota vs. Buffalo Houston vs. NY Giants Jacksonville vs. Kansas City New Orleans vs. Pittsburgh Indianapolis vs. Las Vegas Arizona vs. LA Rams Dallas vs. Green Bay LA Chargers vs. San Francisco Washington vs. Philadelphia
  21. Screencap, for those of us not on Twitter??
  22. I do, too...in the right hands, that'd be ripe for an awesome update. (Shoot I may just take a crack at that myself...)
  23. I guess I wasn't aware that anyone in here at all actually does believe any of that marketing speak drivel about the Texas rebellion flags... ...And even if accepting for a minute fraction of a moment that the team/league did reference the battle flags--confederate or otherwise--in drafting up that logo, how in the wild blue yonder could they be so tone-deaf as to even want to associate any of their team brands (and by extension the league itself) with one of the single most divisive symbols of this country's past history? That's the thing that's sending me the most...
