  1. My only issue is I sometimes confuse it with the WSL in England.
  2. The Dolphins have been faceplanting the last 2 weeks and the Chiefs had to win out to get a home game. I doubt they can get past the Ravens anyways, and that's if they survive the Bills, should they beat the Steelers.
  3. Are they counting on those players not making the UFL dispersal draft to jump down to this league? I'd think it's more likely they go to the IFL, CFL, or just sit out and wait for a call from the UFL.
  4. Interesting that the CFL, and maybe even the NFL, may be considering going with the XFL style kickoff. This also goes into other rules as well.
  5. What's even Stranger is that Sam Ponder was called Steven Ponder. Did they not know any other names for women that start with S? "While reviewing the 2010 and 2011 credit lists, The Athletic found three additional names that could not be verified that also closely resemble the names of “College GameDay” talent: Erik Andrews (Erin Andrews) in 2011; Wendy Nickson (Wendi Nix) and Jenn Brownsmith (Jenn Brown) in 2010. Nix confirmed that she was given an Emmy around 2010 and said she had no idea it was improperly obtained; it just arrived in the mail one day. She was not contacted about returning it before or after she left ESPN in August 2023. Brown, who left ESPN in 2013, confirmed she also was given one and didn’t know it was ill-gotten. She said: “This is all news to me and kind of unfortunate because you’ve got people who believe they rightfully had one. There are rules for a reason … it’s unfortunate (those were) abused and for so many years, too.” Brown said she has not been contacted by ESPN about returning it. Andrews, who left ESPN in 2012, declined to comment through a spokesperson".
  6. https://theathletic.com/5193316/2024/01/11/espn-emmys-fake-names-college-gameday/ So apparently ESPN won several Emmys using false names, then handed them to their on-air personalities. "In March 2023, Shelley Smith, who worked 26 years as an on-air reporter for ESPN, received a call from Stephanie Druley, then the network’s head of studio and event production. Druley said she wanted to talk about something “serious” that needed to stay between the two of them, Smith recalled. She then told Smith that Smith needed to return two sports Emmy statuettes that she had been given more than a decade earlier. That request was one of many ESPN made of some of its biggest stars last year after the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the organization that administers the Emmys, uncovered a scheme that the network used to acquire more than 30 of the coveted statuettes for on-air talent ineligible to receive them. Since at least 2010, ESPN inserted fake names in Emmy entries, then took the awards won by some of those imaginary individuals, had them re-engraved and gave them to on-air personalities. Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Chris Fowler, Desmond Howard and Samantha Ponder, among others, were given the ill-gotten Emmys, according to a source briefed on the matter, who was granted anonymity because the individual is not authorized to discuss it publicly. There is no evidence that the on-air individuals were aware the Emmys given to them were improperly obtained. “I think it was really crummy what they did to me and others,” said Smith, who worked at ESPN from 1997 until her contract expired last July. The fraud was discovered by NATAS, which prompted an investigation by that organization and later by ESPN. Those probes resulted in sanctions beyond the return of the trophies. While it is not known who orchestrated the scheme, Craig Lazarus, vice president and executive producer of original content and features, and Lee Fitting, a senior vice president of production who oversaw “College GameDay” and other properties, were among the ESPN employees NATAS ruled ineligible from future participation in the Emmys. In a statement, ESPN said: “Some members of our team were clearly wrong in submitting certain names that may go back to 1997 in Emmy categories where they were not eligible for recognition or statuettes. This was a misguided attempt to recognize on-air individuals who were important members of our production team. Once current leadership was made aware, we apologized to NATAS for violating guidelines and worked closely with them to completely overhaul our submission process to safeguard against anything like this happening again".
  7. I think it's more hatred of white helmets for Denver specifically, because this was done this year and paired with an all orange uniform and made no sense.
  8. As long as their are stripes on all of the pants, the Lions should be an upgrade. I'm convinced the Broncos will screw up whatever they come up with, and the Texans will probably do something stupid like the LA Kiss with one of their uniforms.
  9. More follow up from the Comeback Period. It's also interesting to see that Northwestern wanted Holtz permanently and he told them no, because he prefers the Stallions head coach job. I think that says a lot about what he thinks about the league.
  10. That Miami jersey is definitely concept only. I think that's also the case for LAFC since they are supposed to use something other than the 2022 template for the thirds.
  11. Cincinnati should be expected to upgrade their uniforms this year. They ordered their gear through BSN for the 2023-2024 athletic seasons.
  12. Wild Card: Cleveland vs. Houston Miami vs. Kansas City Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo Green Bay vs. Dallas Los Angeles vs. Detroit Philadelphia vs. Tampa Bay
  13. https://www.yahoo.com/news/college-football-playoff-delays-tweaking-194149192.html Currently there's a delay to move the playoffs from a 6-6 setup to a 5-7 setup, but it's expected to be made prior to the 2024 kickoff.
  14. They had a few. I believe they had at least as twice as many as the XFL last year,
  15. I thought they already had announced a uniform supplier. But seeing as I can't recall the name, ordering uniforms from a catalog company makes more sense than that.
  16. Michigan having film on him from this year, AND when he was at Indiana probably helped. It's pretty rare to play the same player 3-4 times in the last 4 years. Lots more information that wouldn't have been available if they were playing Texas or Georgia.
  17. The only reason they went with the logo was because it's cheaper than using the wordmarks. I do agree, I'd prefer wordmarks on game day uniforms. But for batting practice uniforms, the logo or monogram works better.
  18. That Cleveland jersey was the mesh batting practice jersey, so that probably affects how that logo looks as well.
  19. USFL Rules – The place kicker must send it away from their own 20 yard line, which starkly contrasts the NFL (35 yard line). – Kicking team members must line up within one yard behind the 20 and must be stationary when the ball is kicked. – Receiving teams must have 8-9 players in the “set up zone”, which is between the 30-40 yard line (kicking side). – A touchback still places the football at the 25 yard line. However, a kick out of bounds puts the receiving team at midfield (NFL: 40). XFL rule: The kicker lines up at his 30-yard line, with the other 10 members of the kickoff team lining up at the opponent's 35 -- 5 yards away from the returning team. Only the kicker and one returner can move until the ball is fielded. Touchbacks are spotted at the 35-yard line. NFL rule: Kicking team lines up at its 35-yard line, with eight members of the return team within 15 yards. No double-team blocks allowed. Touchbacks are spotted at the 25-yard line.
  20. That's what I'm hearing in regards to Anthony Becht discussing some of the rule book last week. The USFL version required less explanation on how it was to be conducted to the referees than the XFL version.
  21. I would get rid of the black side panels and swap the wolf in for the stars on the sleeves.
  22. The FA Cup now has a new captain's armband for the competition this year.
  23. If he's converting points and getting wins, isn't that what a MVP should be doing? He picked Miami apart the week after and has done that to multiple teams this year, it's not just a recent occurrence. If he got all those breaks against San Francisco and didn't take advantage of that field position I'd agree with you.
