USC Josh Shaw may have lied about saving drowning nephew. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/pac12/2014/08/26/steve-sarkisian-josh-shaw-usc-trojans-football-nephew-investigation/14632445/

Sounded too heroic to be true and it was.

Nothing about that story confirms anything as being false. If anything it sounds like what has been said by shaw and his family did occured and people want to take the heroic act away from him by making bs phone calls to the AD. What would be his motive to lie about what happened?

So there was no emergency call, I fell off a dock once before I knew how to swim and and no one called the paramedics, my dad just pulled me out of the water and everything was fine.

Yeah, I fell in our pool once and my dad jumped in and grabbed me. The authorities were never called either.

The fact that the team came out today and said they have to review it should raise some red flags though.

Wow what a douche, to not only hurt your ankles in a burglary but to cook up a like about saving your nephew is pretty low.

Shaw has come out and admitted he lied and has been suspended by the team.

Other players have come out defending their coach and said the running back is just bitter and that Sark is a great guy.

Gonna guess this player was upset and decided to let loose. If the other incident didn't unite the team, perhaps this will.

Even though the season "technically" started last night, I'll take a late stab at predictions:

American: Cincinnati

ACC: Florida St. over Duke

Big 12: Texas

Big Ten: Michigan St. over Wisconsin

MWC: Utah St. over Fresno St.

PAC-12: Oregon over USC

SEC: Alabama over Georgia

Playoff:

1 Florida St. over 4 Oregon

2 Alabama over 3 Michigan St.

1 Florida St. over 2 Alabama

Bryce Petty wins the Heisman.

I am too. So glad college football is back.

Gonna take USCe tonight. I just don't think A&M is gonna come out as hot as the last two years for obvious reasons.

I almost took off work tomorrow to get myself in the frame of mind for LSU-Wisconsin but that would be trouble. Can't wait till 2016 when they play at Lambeau.

If the Aggies can shore up a terrible defense from last year they'll be better than a lot realize.

I liked Johnny but it was all about him. Hill seems more a team quarterback

I'm starting to think that anyone with authority over anyone of a different race cant do anything good or bad without being called a racist. It's getting rediculous with the society with everyone acting like a victim in every situation

Look, I'm a hardcore Louisville but there's no way that they could make to the playoffs with FSU, ND, and Clemson on the same schedule (That's not even mentioning Miami).
