jkrdevil
I'm watching the world cup right now and noticed that the refs don't have zebra stripes on. Is this something only for the World Cup or is the NHL going to carry it over to the season (whenever it starts)?

hockeynut
If I am not mistaken I believe the NHL is looking to use them as well. This is an NHL run tournament with all NHL rules including the ice surface size.

Now, you see, you're just being silly with a comment like that. However, I did hear that there's a new rule that by 2007 all teams must implement a color scheme incorporating multiple shades of blue plus yellow. stpmn
With this being a Nike sponsored tournament. They created the designs and are outfitting the teams and officials with their jerseys. I'm sure Nike just wanted to create something different, as they always do.
Sterling84
well that IS unfortunate. NHL refs are not only the best officials in sport, but in general look the coolest.THis is WAY too NBA and too bad. Hope its not around for long.
