Oh yeah, because we’re sooooo much better with Zulily and a casino. I’m making more the point all sponsorships suck (except Bantr, of course) and need to be kicked off of sports uniforms. Although the way every league is heading this country we’re going to have all our uniforms look like NASCAR suits by 2040.

At least the Reign ditched Zulily with the OL takeover.   Agreed, though, sponsorships almost always suck and unfortunately it seems like there’s no going backwards with the prominence or quantity of them.

Here's the new Reign away kit. The vertical stripes are filled with the names of every player who's played ever for the Reign:

 

 

I like that touch of honoring the players, and barring the black (or navy?) numbers and ad, it's genuinely really well designed.... But from afar this is basically just a nice Lyon kit. Idk if I'll ever get over this rebrand as many Reign fans seem to have done, but the blue/red co-dominance is an unwelcome reminder no matter how nice it looks :/

The Thorns have officially unveiled both of their new kits:

Both shirts feature an NWSL 10-year jocktag, which I assume other teams will feature in some capacity as well:

 

I was really hoping the white kit would have red shorts, so disappointed but not surprised at all to see all-white. The white kit is fine, that’s about all I can say for it. Still don’t like the crest treatment, but the overall package is inoffensive IMO. I’ve come to like the black kit quite a bit, though. Wish the socks had stripes to match the shirt, but overall I’m pretty happy with the black kit.

Two new Spirit kits revealed today, the first one is the Challenge Cup kit (the "Community Kit") and the other is the regular season kit (the "10th Anniversary Kit"), both boring IMO:

Not crazy about the font they chose but this works well enough! Would rather see it as the league logo on the sleeve instead of the ads, but oh well.

Why do we need a special kit just for the Challenge Cup thing if both of their kits are stock teamwear? Are they even selling?

I guess because of better material for the regular season jerseys? That still doesn't make much sense.

I could understand putting the logo on the seam if it's only being worn by teams that have been in the league 10 seasons, but if everyone's wearing it, put it above the swoosh, at the middle between the swoosh and badge, or put it on the sleeve where the league logo would be.

The Thorns’ new kits may not be all that exciting, but they have a pretty awesome new prematch top:

 

The plaid pattern is definitely fitting for Portland, but the best part is that the lines that make up the pattern have thorns on them just like the stripes on the new black jersey. Nike has made a habit in recent years of creating prematch tops that are more adventurous, if not just flat out better than the actual jerseys, and it appears like they’ve given that treatment to the Thorns as well. I hope they put these for sale because I’d definitely get one.

Just about what I was going to say. Adidas/Inter has fumbled the ball so much on it, so for City of Angels to go out and do something solid on their first try is a great example of what Inter has failed to do.

The treatment of the Thorns logo on the white jerseys reminds me a lot of the USWNT's "4 stars only" logo and campaign... team name is barely legible, the red pops highlight just the championships and the Thorns.  There's at least an odd parallel between the symbolism of the 4 Stars Only campaign and the ongoing issues in the Thorns/Timbers front office (protecting abusers and predators).  Obviously the club wouldn't do this on purpose, but it is curious to me at least.
