Didn’t get a screenshot, but Columbus’ mop people don fedoras and wear shirts that say “The Mopsters”.  Solid gag.

An unbelievable opening set.. and not one official account on Twitter has posted the score. In fact, the league and Mojo account hasn't acknowledged anything since the game started. And the Rise stopped tweeting after it was 23-23. Ended 36-34 for Mojo.

Agreed wholeheartedly on them needing to have separate logo and team colors.

Pick one of the blues and one of purple/pink and I think it’d be much cleaners.

Purple and light blue seems like the best way to be distinct but mass-appeal: navy is overdone, and prioritizing pink might get accusation of trying too hard to be girly.

Dallas will have a team in 2025, so I wonder what attendance will be like.  I would think it would be like the Dallas Wings (good attendance, not necessarily great) instead of Panther City Lacrosse (in which nobody is in attendance).

It will also be interesting to see what the local media coverage will be like.  I think they would be happy if they fall into the "local media covering sports knows they exist and we'll only cover them if it's a slow news day" category that the Wings and FC Dallas have had, instead of "I didn't know we had a team in that sport" like Panther City Lacrosse has fallen into.  It would also greatly benefit the Dallas PVF team if the other pro sports teams acknowledged their existence too and supported them if they get a championship run.

I find myself rooting for the Orlando Valkyries since MK White is from the same county I am. With that said, for as good as she can be offensively Jill Gillen is a defensive liability on the front line. She rarely makes contact with the opposing team's spikes let alone blocks them. It seems like teams target her when they can. Definitely felt like Omaha was doing that today.

From what I could tell the Las Vegas Aces openly acknowledge the Thrill. Even some Raiders players have been spotted at their games. Not sure about other PVF cities. To be fair though 2 of the league's 7 cities have no existing major franchises.

Yeah I've seen parts of 2 games in Vegas and both had Aces players there. AJ Cole (Raiders' punter) was shown once there too. His wife was originally on Atlanta before being waived before the season.

I'm actually wondering how long they'll last in Vegas. Through 4 home games, they're averaging barely over 2k a game, have the three lowest total attendances and even had one game under 1k. I don't know if it's them playing in Henderson and if playing in one of the other arenas closer to the strip and the heart of the entertainment area would help or not, but it doesn't seem to be as popular of a market as they had hoped.

Las Vegas seemed like the oddest city for this league to be honest. From what I understand LV is not a major volleyball market compared to other cities currently not in PVF. I guess PVF saw a legit ownership group step forward in Vegas and brought them into the fold.

It's really just strange that they're in Henderson at a 4000 seat arena built for the VGK minor league affiliate and hosts things like NBA G-League and indoor football. It's a busy arena. But Las Vegas has a ton of arenas. They're clearly aiming for the suburbs, but only the southeast suburbs. Potential fans from west (Summerlin) or northern tier along 215 aren't driving to Henderson. The hope is Henderson comes out en force. But they've got a lot of options in that arena now.

I can't even think of all the arenas along the strip now. Especially ones that can handle a volleyball setup. The notable ones at casinos are Orleans Arena (9,500), MGM Grand Garden Arena (17,000), Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay (12,500), and T-Mobile Arena (17,500). I believe UNLV's venues are off-limits thanks to the Allegiant Stadium deal. But that's four much larger venues even if they're in the 'tourist' area that locals try to avoid when possible (though not for NHL/NFL games).

Orleans has hosted many minor league teams over the years. While MGM is more for concert events, and only hosted two minor league seasons. Both in 1994. An indoor soccer team and the AFL's Las Vegas Sting. No seasonal sports team since then. While Mandalay Bay's arena has been the home of the Las Vegas Aces WNBA team and Las Vegas Desert Dogs NLL team.

Looked at the league schedule and there are no more games listed for Bally/Stadium broadcast. Now that college basketball is beginning to wind down, I wonder if PVF games will start airing on CBS and/or CBS Sportsnet?

What the hell was the point of the Stadium/Bally deal when none of the games aired on those two channels?

Perhaps PVF found out something bad about the networks close to the start of the season and decided to back out of the deal. I've heard a lot of talk about Bally's hanging on by a thread. Not sure about Stadium though.
