Jets Ressurect...

P.I.L.L.

Recommended Posts

I genuinely appreciate the harsh critique... 'cause it made me determined to get this one to "flow" ... I apologize for my bluntness towards yours...

ofcourse the usual suspects will bombard this thread w/ their dissenting rhetoric... so I ask the mods for assistance in keeping this from turning into a P.I.L.L. pelting., ie: a quick trip to the graveyard.

Thanks :D ~CJ

Better you should help yourself by not making snide, baiting comments.

If you're going to leave the thread open for c&c, then don't complain if you get c&c of a nature you don't find pleasing. And remember, "the usual suspects" didn't pick you as some random, Navin Johnson-like, victim. You put yourself in this position thanks to your prior conduct - the same conduct that generally results in a visit by the Thread Hearse.

Heaven forbid you try to turn the other cheek.

Lecture over - everyone play nice.

Now this is looking the best out of everything you've done so for.

Point 1: Lose the motion-streak thingy on the bottom. It's looking better as straight horizontal lines.

Point 2: Winnipeg text needs enlarging again. Not by much, mind, just to help clarify it a bit better.

Other than that, I wouldn't touch a thing. The colours all mesh properly and the jet logo works very effectively. In retrospect, your previous incarnation was a bit busy, but I think you've hit the nail on the head with this one.

Thanks go to Eddie010 for the Signature and Avatar. Nice work, mate!

This is nice. I am not a fan of that flare you have in the bottom stripes, but otherwise, nice work. The logo came along nicely--thanks to the criticism. Now, keep on putting out stuff like this WITHOUT the defense text to go along with it and people will eventually forget that static with you early on....

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

Well it is simpler and less jumbled--but--I'm not quite sold on it--maybe make the word Jets a bit bigger--or lose it.

Overall the logo looks a bit big on that jersey (easily fixed)

Keep at it...

I have to agree with the consensus on this thread - this is a very, very good design. I think this one lent itself very well to your style, which is very "kinetic" involving those motion lines and all. For some of your logos, they can be distracting but they are perfectly appropriate for a jet.

i like what you've done with the logo, but the uniform is very tacky and minor-leagueish...

clean bold striping is the fashion of the day, and this jersey looked like a rejected 90's alternate, with the striping on the bottom.

the logo = good, the unis = bad.

It's...different from your last version.

There's still way too many elements going on for my taste. I'm not sure what to focus on first. You have a huge jet-like shape, but it's still on the impressionist side. There's also the stick thrown on top, I guess it could stand for a "J", but there's already the word "jets".

There's also multiple layering going on, in almost an Escher-like effect.

As a work of art, it's interesting. As a sports logo, no. If it were a piece titled "My interpretation of the Winnipeg Jets", than you definitely captured that feeling. But if it's specifically a logo or a hockey crest, it's still too busy. Simplify it down, even take out some color.

as for the feedback on this one... definitely a welcome relief... thanks~ especially jp, of all people... making an association to that of a genius like Escher is a HUGE compliment, no matter what you think of it's merit as a pro sports logo...

Cole on Wis... I went kicking and screaming... but conceded to remove the abstract striping~ seems it was more of a distration than a compliment... although I still think it could work in a subtle form~ perhaps w/ just the powder blue cutting through.

well it's like Mings said, when you're having a bad week or whatever... things are projected ~ anyway, it's real easy to take it out on people you'll probably never meet face to face... although, I would attend a CC conference ... guess I'd have to be wearing my helmet though! :hockeysmiley: There's always a Bertuzzi lurking...
