Yankee lover and Sosa all at the same time. How media driven can you be? No way the Orioles finish under .500.

I also can't see the Chisox 20 games under .500.

I like the Rangers pick.

The A's 22 games under .500 is crazy also.

I like the Padres & Dodgers 1-2 in the NL West with the Giants a close 3rd. I also think all this talk of Bonds out for a long time is bunk. If I lived in Vegas I'd put money on him back by Mid May.

Your homerness also shows through in your Mets prediction. I forsee Beltran and Pedro having some trouble adjusting to the NY media, especially Beltran. He's gone from baseball Siberia KC, to Media hell in less than half a year. ARod is glad they are in town now though.

Look for the Braves than the Marlins with the Mets looking from the outside.

That's what I was thinking. The Mets, of all teams, winning the NL East. If anybody besides the Braves wins it, it'll be the Marlins. They're the most well-rounded team in the league, good hitting, good pitching. But it would be GREAT to see a three-team race in the NL East, because that would basically mean my fantasy team is kicking major butt :D

I like the site design with the pennants.

My two cents on your predictions is that (and feel free to call me a homer) Johan will NOT have a let down and the Twins will get back to the postseason. I also think there is no reason to pick against Atlanta in the east until Bobby Cox has been dead for five years.

However, ultimately, I like your Cards/Yanks pick. I'd say Cards/Yanks or Atlanta/Yanks.

Sosa will put up huge numbers in a hitters park. I forsee 45-50 HR's this year. Plus Mora & Tejada in front, and Lopez & Palmeiro in back; he has a ton of protection. A few K's won't hurt and pressure him to force it at the plate.

Not to mention he is now away from the Cursed Cubs. All the pressure and blame won't fall on his shoulders in Baltimore. Not only is he not the focal point of the team, he's not even the best player.

So sad. I thought the proprietor of the Stumper knew a little more about sports. But alas, I guess it is just trivia he knows about.

Even in a bad year with all the things swirling around him, he hit .253 and 35 HR's. Outside of your pinstriped NY blood, what gives you any indication that he will have such a HUGE falloff from a lifetime average of .277?

I tend to agree with Joe more than Tank. Sosa had a lot of bad press last year (much of it deserved). But he still put up power numbers that most any player would love to have.

I think he was gettin off the juice last year. If he is healthy, I think he hits 30 to 35 HR and AT LEAST .240, but probably more like .260

I think the juice is over rated anyway. If 35 HR's in 126 games is juiceless, i'll take that any day. He'll get plenty of rest, and only play in about 140-150 games. He'll see plenty of pitches early in the season as teams try to pitch around Tejada to get to him, cause they think like Tank. I'll go out on a limb and say he has 25-30 by the all-star break. That's not any crazier than the Braves in 3rd or Red Sox not getting the Wild Card. :D

Division Champion Mets? ha! ha! ha! ............. sorry couldn't resist......

BTW, your math is messed up: I counted the total number of wins of every team and it came up to 2423. There are 2430 games, so you must put 7 wins somewhere....... Solution: Give the Jays an extra 7 wins :D

I saw, I came, I left.

seriously the Indians winning the Central . Look for this division being won by the Twins or the Tigers. Plus 81-81. Tigers will be over the 81 mark in the win column this season

I have to disagree with a few of these.

NL West-Giants are way too old to be that competitive. Padres will take the division, and I have no idea what you're talking about with the hitters, seeing as both teams would encounter that, and they traded for Dave Roberts for the added speed needed there.

AL East-Quiet confidence? No, that has nothing to do with it. The Yankees are just a bunch of hired guns with no sense of team play. And, the Red Sox will be playing a whole season without the monkey on their backs, which will be a huge boost. They may have lost Pedro and Lowe, but they picked up Clement, Wells, and Miller, which are quality pitchers.

AL Central-The Twins will definately take the division. The Indians aren't ready just yet to contend, plus this letdown you speak of doesn't fly.

AL West-You give the Rangers WAY too much credit. They'll be lucky to win 80 games. Pitching is still their Achilles' Heel.

Well, Baltimore will be under .500 because they have no starting pitching. Boston will win more than 87 games and will win the wild-card, as much as I would like them to miss the playoffs. However I don't know if they will get passed the first round, they seem to have the type of pitching the Yankees had last year.

Also the Braves will make the playoffs and the Mets won't. Pedro will be fine with the pressure, he just came from Boston during the curse, he has dealt with the same type of media, if not worse. Beltran can be a question, after all the talk that he was going to the Yanks the Yankees didn't go after him. There must be a reason.

Honestly, i believe that all three of the teams in the NL East, includng the Nationals will finish ahead of the Mets.

if you can really say the A's will finish in the basement, then you havent seen their new guys. ill put it this way, they may have lost two of the big three, but their AAA minor league team has won the last two PCL championships. And remember, Hudson, Zito, Mulder, Harden, Chavez, Giambi, Tejada, and a whole list of others have gone through that system. the A's will be just fine

woah thats some wacky predictions! Boston, Cincinatti, Mets, Toronto, Cleveland,

San Fransico, and Oakland are all a little crazy I think. Ive learned from predicting baseball that you should pick the most obvious pick out there. Leave the wacky preictiopns to football.

But very interesting stuff
