slapshot
Sweetness. Still need to get one of those babies with your logo on it.I am a bit concerned that the AHL is becoming too attached to the DePaul typeface (Demonized). It works with your design, but it was arbitrarily used on the uniforms for this year's All-Star Game in Manchester.

Sterling84
I am a bit concerned that the AHL is becoming too attached to the DePaul typeface (Demonized). It works with your design, but it was arbitrarily used on the uniforms for this year's All-Star Game in Manchester. They are........and perhaps so am I. I painted them into a corner by using it as the root for their new wordmark. Then, when the AHL picked it up for All-Star unis this year........it was too easy a fit to ignore. Live and learn. I still think it looks pretty nice in this instance.I'm pretty happy with these. They came a LONG way in the 9+ months of trading concepts and modifying them etc.I fought hard for some things that didn't make it.......inclusion of the AHL secondary logo for one......but in the end I think we've got some really nice looking marks to use to sell the event for the next year. RamblinGamblinTiger
awesome work....since the nhl seems to think a 2005-06 season will take place, when do you guys think that logo will be released? it will probably end up being used as much as Atlanta's logo from this past "season"..... DEAD!
Awesome work there. But for some strange reason, I've been looking at it and can't help but thinking about the 2004 All-Star game logo?
Sterling84
can't help but thinking about the 2004 All-Star game logo? For what league?EDIT: Oh.....duh. You mean the NHL one obviously. That was one certainly was one of the finer in recent memory and one of the ones I looked at for inspiration.

Can you blame me for forgetting about a league that's currently not playing?
Sabrejeff
Winnipeg -- Canada?? Why not Winnipeg -- Manitoba or MTS Centre -- Winnipeg??Otherwise it's great.
Sterling84
Winnipeg -- Canada?? Why not Winnipeg -- Manitoba or MTS Centre -- Winnipeg??Otherwise it's great.I design whats requested of me.My initial concepts all had different, more familiar wording like you described.I think it's a cultural difference. Sort of a regional-centric American issue. If I said an event was being held in Milwaukee, USA, we'd think that sounds stupid. Because we think our states are as well known? Because USA is a given? I dunno. But if I were to say an event took place in Frankfurt, Germany.....that would sound appropriate yeah? Well, Winnipeg, Canada is no different. They wanted to emphasize Canada. They're really proud to be hosting this both from a Winnipeg perspective and from a Canadien one.

Can't fault you there, but personally I hate hearing "Winnipeg, Canada".Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Proud resident of all three.
