DEAD!
All I can ask is, "What the hell are they thinking?" One too many teams are using the same basic look and font, including the Argos . I can't understand why the Lions switched to orange. "Who are we?" "The Pilons" I saw, I came, I left.
gosioux76
It would seem the patch on the blue Argos jersey would get lost in all that blue.
Pixelboy
I am appalled that Reebok actually had the testicular fortitude to be so lazy and use other teams' templates. The 'spy photos' suggested this would be the case. I am stunned that the CFL let them get away with it."Hey boys, maybe we can give them a template and they can colour it with their own crayons. We just won't tell them they're all the same."The CFL must be in more dire straits financially than I had imagined in order to let this happen. As a Lions fan, I think this sucks. They could do so much with orange. Instead it looks like a practice jersey.Good job Reebok and CFL I think what it really says is that most CFL teams still have no clue when it comes to the importance of image and promotion. The new Hamilton regime knows it, and their refusal to accept Reebok's generic look shows it.
gameface
"Who are we?" "The Pilons"Well, Dana Murzyn did patrol the blue line for the Canucks for many years.I personally really like orange. I don't think it's used enough. However, the way they used it here just stinks. It looks like a practice jersey with a little Miami Hurricanes piping thrown in for good measure. OMMF
This pretty much goes against what most of us stand for but...there isn't enough black on the Lions jerseys, especially the orange one.
GeorgesL
Well, these are my takes on the new CFL jerseys:Let's start with the East Division.ALOUETTES-(My team) Out of all the teams in the league, the Als' unis' remain untouched, with the exception of the addition of the wordmark to the home jerseys, which I think are pretty cool. Reebok probably looked at these, and said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."Grade: A+Toronto Argonauts-The double blue is a good combo, but the main logo was scaled down to just the shield, which I can't understand why they would do that. I thought the Greek Warrior logo was the best logo they came up with since the football-boat logo of the late '70s. And I hate the Argos. All in all, the new uniform set is generally pretty disappointing.Grade: CHamilton Tigercats-I believe the Ticats did certain things right on these uniforms. First, they brought back the gold stripe on the helmets, and second, they tweaked up the tiger logo. They kept the number style from their previous kit, and they even went a little nostalgic on the shoulders. A pretty good change, even though bringing the plain gold pants would've pushed their grade a little higher.Grade: B+Ottawa Renegades-What happened here? Their first uniforms were the best set I've ever seen, and look what Reebok did? The uniform styles are similar to that of the Argos, and the numbers look so standard. And I have not seen one drop of pewter on the new uniforms. This has got to be the worst change of all.Grade: FNot on to the West Division:B.C. Lions: I like this change very much, because they ditched the black, and made orange the primary colour. I remember the orange jerseys very vividly, when they wore the white helmets. The orange jerseys they came out with 2 years ago, to commemorate the club's 50th anniversary, were a big hit with the fans. I understand they have changed their helmets from silver to white, and they do the same with the pants, and even if they go with orange pants to go with their whites, I believe the Lions will have something going.Grade: A-Calgary Stampeders: The so-called "Falcons" look. To tell you the truth, their old uniforms look better than these. As an old-school guy myself, I'm really not feeling these as much. Imagine how I'd feel if they came out with black ones.Grade: D+Edmonton Eskimos-Like their alter-egos, the Alouettes, the Eskimos' unis have not changed a bit. Only addition: the pinstripe on the front of the jerseys. Not bad, I wouldn't add them, but from a distance, you'd hardly notice them.Grade: ASaskatchewan Roughriders-The Riders were definitely due for a change, but I wasn't expecting the shoulder stripes they came up with. Everything else looks decent here, but I fear they would keep the unpopular black pants. Getting back to the shoulder stripes, again with the Argos look, only they added black in the middle for home. Green would've been more traditional.Grade: C+Winnipeg Blue Bombers-It's about time they went with a bolder look, however they look a little bit like the Rams, when they went with gold numbers. If they were aiming for a more nostalgic look in these uniforms, they succeeded, but not decisively. Grade: B-
Pixelboy
I notice from the group photo that the FalconPeders are using their old school horseshoe from the 50s-60s as their arm logo instead of their primary horse logo.

Argos dumped the Jason look whith the new ownership group this year and have gone to the big A with the shield as their primary logo. The Lions have gone to white helmets, (you can see Clermont resting his hand on it in the lower left corner of the picture. And you can also see they have gone to white pants at home and orange pants on the road. The silver is gone completely.

illinirox1
Wow these jerseys all look the same, and most of them look like NFL Jerseys. Plus it does only look like coloring templates. I dont think this worked out very well. Put Your Hands up For Detroit (our lovely city)
Pixelboy
Here's the new Edmonton home uniform. Note that according to the Eskimos official announcement the green pants are a 3rd alternate, in addition to their regular whites and yellows. I personally like 'em as a change, although I realize that's not a popular opinion here. The traditional yellows will be worn at home most of the time I'd imagine. scottyvoodoo
Pixelboy Posted on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2005 - 13:51:45 I notice from the group photo that the FalconPeders are using their old school horseshoe from the 50s-60s as their arm logo instead of their primary horse logo. That's the same alt logo they have used for the last few years not the old school logo. The Stamps road jersey looks like they're wearing a bib. The Als also changed their home pants the stripe is no longer just white.

Pixelboy
The Winnipeg Rams. Wimpy shoulder stripes. Hard to tell, but it almost looks like there isn't a stripe on the helmets. Could be the angle.

gameface
I stand corrected. I actually like the Lions road orange pants. The rest of it is still, in the words of the immortal Chris Jericho, filthy, dirty, disgusting, skanky, brutal, bottom-feeding, rancid, reeking, etc.
