Swiss
The Astros were 1 out away of their first World Series appearance winning 4-2.Then... PAF! A 3-run HR of Pujols is giving now new life to the Cards. It's great to be young and a Giant! - Larry Doyle
oz615
I had that same feeling in 2003 went the Cubs were 5 outs away from going to the World Series.
FirearmofMutiny
BAM! That was a much quicker version of Game 6 of 86... sans bonehead play, of course.

jkrdevil
Well if the Cards come back to win the series that will be one of the more famoud LCS Homeruns. However Oswalt and Clemens have the ability to stop this momentum.
FirearmofMutiny
But they got beat by the best player in MLB today, not by a fan and a comedian prematurely declaring victory during the 7th-inning stretch!
pcgd
My friend was holding the remote to change the channel so I didn't have to watch the post game celebration.I still can't believe that. The most amazing thing was how calm he was. It was like he knew he was going to do it. I would have been freaking out. In fact I was and I hurt myself running around my friends house.Wow. Swiss
I had that same feeling in 2003 went the Cubs were 5 outs away from going to the World Series. End of the game!!! But... the Cubs were 5 outs away from the pennant... those Astros were ONLY 1 OUT away from the pennant. So now they must play against the Cards and their crowd.Poor Astros... they are joining to The Exclusive 1 Out Away from the Big Prize Club that counters the '86 Red Sox and the '86 Angels as members. winghaz
Poor Astros... they are joining to The Exclusive 1 Out Away from the Big Prize Club that counters the '86 Red Sox and the '86 Angels as members.Let's just pray ... and pray hard ... that Brad Lidge, the pitcher who gave up that home run, doesn't suffer the same fate as Donnie Moore. If you remember, Moore couldn't ever get over giving up his gopher ball while with the Angels, and eventually committed suicide.

pcgd
I would like to mention how clutch the umpires were on a few key calls thoughout the game. Usually all you hear is the bad, but they made some outstanding calls that I questioned at full speed even when t hey went in favor of the cardinals. Audiodrama
A few more of these and I'll dub him the NL version of Papi Ortiz. Pujols is better than Ortiz. Not in clutch situations he ain't. He needs a couple more of those late inning hits to get him in Ortiz's category.
