I like the last idea, but I would suggest different, yet similar, nicknames with ALL of the ones you mentioned.

Here are some examples:

ARZ- Las Vegas Redbirds

ATL- Birmingham Raptors (the bird, not the dinosaur)

DET- Lansing Leopards

KC- Oklahoma City Cherokee (I know, it may be politically incorrect)

MIA- Orlando Porpoises

MIN- St. Paul Norsemen

NO- Biloxi Angels

NYG- Rhode Island Giants -- this one we keep just because of that oxymoron

NYJ- Bridgeport Flyers

OAK-Reno Renegades

PHI- Allentown Hawks

PIT- Charleston Ironmen (Steel is too close)

SD- Los Angeles Shockers (Charge is too close)

STL- Little Rock Bighorns

WAS- Norfolk ... hey, I like Rednecks

You've made me change my mind, JH. Canton Bulldogs would be fantastic for two reasons: 1, Tradition; 2, The Cleveland Browns' Dog Pound.

Give yourself (or your pooch) a couple of extra dog biscuits for that.

no need for a graveyard IMO, this is a very interesting topic.

Just lettin ya know everything JH42XCC touches goes to "Da Yard".

Are you kidding me? Or are you referring to my hypothetical leagues? As nwtrailtrekker said, "This IS a very interesting topic."

If you spread the NFL into 50 teams, most teams would suck except like 2.

Isn't that what they said about expanding from 28 teams?

Yes, they did and they were right. The league is filled with mediocre teams. Adding would only make it worse. Unfortunately, there just arent enough good QB's to support a league of 50 teams.
