infrared41
OK The Colts lost today and Csonka, Kiick, Morris, Little, Scott etc. are popping the champagne again to celebrate The Dolphins undefeated season in 1972. My question is this...Is it...a.) cool to see them honor their history every year?or b.) are they bitter, angry, old men making fools of themselves by clinging to their past glory? I happen to think it's pretty cool. What they did was pretty amazing and there is no reason not to celebrate it every year. Your thoughts?

Your thoughts? i'll go with choice a. what the '72 dolphins team did had never been done before then, and has never been done since. let them celebrate their achievement, an achievement which will probablly never be matched. OB33
All of the above. Great accomplishment and all, but Garo Yepremian has nothing to be proud of. #CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP

FiddySicks
I used to think it was cool because it was a salute to history, but after seeing the attitudes of some of the guys on that team, like Mercury Morris and his "Street and Town" saying he has, ima have to choose #2 On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Cujo
As I stated in the previous Colts thread, I cannot stand the '72 Dolphins. I want nothing more (other than Leinart to the Jets) than to see some team come along, go 19-0 and throw it all up in their faces.Memo to Mercury Morris and the '72 Dolphins: 19 is greater than 17 ... so whenever we do have our next undefeated team, they will be greater than you! NJTank
Proof how being a winner is no longer cool, it was a great accomplishment this tradition of popping the corks allow them to celebrate each and every year. The only people are bitter are you haters out there at them doing it. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
winters in buffalo
The celebration stuff got old after 1973. Now, it's like a bunch of old, fat guys sitting around the local bar talking about how awesome their high school team was half a lifetime ago. The_Admiral
They're celebrating the failure of a team they didn't even play. That isn't a little lame to you? ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
Cujo
And if they did play eachother, the final score would be: '05 Colts 127, '72 Dolphins
Alphabet Man
records are made to be broken, they should get over it and see it as a good thing that someone has broken the record.....anyway, they can't stop the Colts winning every game can they? twitter.com/thebrainofMatt

The_Admiral
I'm not saying they'd play them right now, that's impossible. It's just pathetic to celebrate Indy's loss like that. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

WJMorris3
One of these days, we'll see a team go through 19-0. Hell, we might even see 20-0 one of these years. Here's hoping it's my Eagles who do it.
IceCap
imo they're allowed to celebrate an achievement that still stands to this day. Cujo
we might even see 20-0 one of these years. That will never happen.Three teams, all in the same conference, would have to start out 16-0 for that to even become a possablilty.
Jigga
So these geysers can celebrate a team losing and get lauded, but R. Kelly can't put some soul in the U.S. National Anthem without being damn near lynched? What the is wrong with America... Tank, what if all of the 1972 Dolphins are liberals, would you still say their celebration is okay? On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame.
