FiddySicks
Did the Rams ditch the gold side stripes on their current jerseys? I always thought that was one of the most unique parts of the new look. On top of that they kinda changed without any real notice, so when did it happen? BRice16
They changed before the 2003 season. They had the gold stripes for three seasons, 2000 (with block numbers), and 01-02 with the current number font.I miss the gold as well.
DG_ThenNowForever
I miss the gold stripes only because that had the Rams kept them, we may have avoided the truly terrible all blue look. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags
ShaftDu
the stripe was there to go along with the side dagger on the white and blue pants. And since the Rams never worn anything but the gold pants, I am sure that is why they stop wearing them.
Gothamite
It's a huge improvement. That, and ditching the half-stripe pants, transformed this from a so-so design to a superior one. Davey
The changed the uniforms a couple of times. First started of with just normal numbers, then updated them to the numbers u see on their jerseys, then taking off the stripes improved the jerseys even better. ( sorry i dont know what fonts they switched too )
DGivens87
I liked the gold panels - the best incarnation of their jersey was the 2000 version, with the gold panels and block numbers. After 2000, their unis just got progressively more bland, IMO. A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN! FiddySicks
You just noticed that??They've been without gold stripes for a couple years now. No, i noticed it awhile ago, but i pulled out my Issac Bruce jersey last night and was just curious as to why and when they removed the stripes.BTW, sorry about the topic title. Ill try to be more discriptive next time On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) I thought I was just growing tired of the look, but in comparing then to now, they really have gotten weaker.

I thought I was just growing tired of the look, but in comparing then to now, they really have gotten weaker. How can you say that??! That cheap block number font was a carryover from the blue and yellow jerseys cuz Puma screwed up production the first year. But now their number font is dynamic and unique, one of the slickest in the league! And getting rid of that pointless gold stripe is the best thing they could have done-it didn't go with anything else on the uniform, and it just crowded it with gold. Their unis now are wonderful (except for the all blue). charles-noerenberg.com
BRice16
I wouldn't say the font is that unique. It's called City Bold and is used by about 100 college basketball teams, the Phoneix Suns, a couple of WNBA teams, and many high school football teams...
