Who's the number one pick

Young would make a big mistake if he goes back to college next year.

Leinert would have been a 49er and a number one pick last year, this year who knows maybe 3 or 4.

So if you are Houston do you take Bush and keep Carr?

Trade Carr and take Young?

Or flip picks with New Orleans and take Bush at number two?

Or?

1. Houston Texans - Trade down to 4th with New York Jets. Jets select Reggie Bush

2. New Orleans Saints - Matt Leinhardt because they SHOULD, but because Benson is an idiot. Vince would fit this offense and fan base far better. But I'm convinced Benson will make a mistake here.

3. Tennessee Titans - Vince Young - if Vince stays instead of getting drafted in the top 3, hes an idiot.

4. New York Jets - Trade up to #1 with Texans. Texans select D'Brickashaw

5. Green Bay Packers - DeAngelo Williams

6. San Francisco 49ers - AJ Hawk

7. Oakland Riaders - Jimmy Williams

If the Texans select Bush, it would be the worst draft mistake in years.

Green Bay NEEDS defence before the draft an offensive player again. AJ Hawk showed why he is so great in the Fiesta, and Green Bay should be desperate for outside LB's.

DeAngelo is amazing, but with Davenport and Green, for now that should do in GB.

Leinart is the best QUARTERBACK in the draft, and that's why he should be the first QB drafted, the Saints would fit a Vince Young, but I think they would fiit a Leinart too.

Bush NEEDS to go number one, he deserves it.

If I'm a GM and I'm looking for a QB, I'm taking Vince Young. Something about Leinart I don't like -- he goes against the coach and makes a lot of bad decisions. Against ND, he decides to go for the QB sneak, and should've been stopped if not for being pushed in -- this came after his decision to tuck it and run, where he was saved by his own fumble. Against Texas, Pete Carroll wanted to try and draw Texas offsides and go for a FG, but Leinart decided to QB sneak it and came up short. On the last play, he looked absolutely clueless. He's proven he can win the big game, but I'm not so sure of his ability to make the big plays late in said big games. Meanwhile, Young was flawless. Any player that Pete Carroll can't make adjustments at the half to stop is something special. I like his style of running to, he's not afraid or unable to break a tackle, rather than just using his quickness. I'd love to see him come out, but if he doesn't, he'll have a heisman and another National Championship.

If I'm looking for a RB, you can't go wrong with either Reggie Bush or Lendale White, in my opinion.

The Pack should take DeAngelo Williams. Their defense does have issues, but is in much better shape than the offense. Keep in mind that virtually all the RBs are free agents. Why would Thompson drop a ton of cash on guys that are proving to be injury prone? The smart move is to take Williams.

Vince Younjg is a college hero, but in the NFL I cant see him succeeding like this. NFL defensive players will eat him alive, and I think Leinart and Bush should be picked ahead of him. I smell an NFL Bust...

Green and Davenport are both free agents, and the Packers front office hasn't really shown much indication that they'll be bringing back either one next season. I could see the Packers going with either DeAngelo Williams or A.J. Hawk if they don't trade down for more picks (which has been GM Ted Thompson's style in past drafts, plus they only have five draft picks this year).

Personally, assuming we can re-sign Green or Davenport, I'd rather shore up the defense by putting Hawk at MLB and moving Nick Barnett outside, then use the second-round pick on a pass-rushing DE.

None of these guys will be as dominant on Sundays as they are on Saturdays, but it reminds me of the Vick vs. Tomlinson choice in 2001.

Except Bush is maybe more versatile than Tomlinson and Young is bigger with a better arm and similar foot speed to Vick.

Then throw in Leinert who will be great and is a proven winner..

I think Houston could use a big name but Bush may be on a better offense at USC. They could trade for a high pick and some players which is probably what they should do

I honestly don't think Vince Young will be going pro this year, I think he's headed back to Austin for his senior year.

I don't know, I don't think he'll make the same mistake that Leinart did.

I don't know if Vince Young's stock could be any higher right now. Sure, he could win the heisman and a second National Championship -- but he just torched the USC defense through air and ground, and lead a last second drive to win the National Championship, capping it off with both the TD run and the 2 point conversion, against what some felt is among the best teams EVER!

The only thing im thinking is that the Jets may not pick up Bush. From almost every Jets fan ive spoken to, they feel that they need a Quarterback like Matt Lienart before they need a Running Back. It looks to me like Jets fans are ready to dump both Pennington, who still can be a great QB, and Curtis Martin, who has at least another year in those legs. I say wait

I wouldn't say Young has a better arm than Vick...Vick can sling it as far as anyone. He and Jeff George have miracle wrists. But the rest of the comparison is accurate. Young running style is so similar to Vick's it's amazing. That long, silky smooth stride, able to stop and change on a dime, etc. I agree with Pat though that Vince won't nearly be as successful in the NFL as he is in college.

But Young's got more accuracy and seems more capable breaking tackles.

Everyone has better accuracy and is able to break tackles in college.

Ryan Leaf had great accuracy in college...

Things are a bit different in the NFL.

Vick never looked like a particularly good passer in college. And when you're 6'5", 235, and guys can't get a good shot at you, you're going to be able to break tackles, even in the NFL.

If that was the case, why are teams looking to draft the next Dante Hall with the first pick in the draft?

Notes from Vick's college career:

"Captured the first-ever Archie Griffin Award as college football Player of the Year as a (redshirt) freshman when he led the nation in passing efficiency at 180.37 (sound familiar, ITE?), the second-highest total ever, and guided the Hokies to a perfect 11-0 regular season record.

Set an NCAA record for a freshman and established single-season school records for highest yards passing per completion (20.4), per attempt (12.1), highest completion percentage (59.2) and most yards per play (9.3)."

Okay, I'll grant you Vick was never an outstanding passer, but he did ok.

And people are looking at Bush as the #1 pick because he looks spectacular, again, against pretty mediocre competition. I did say in another thread that if LenDale White (home grown in CO) turns pro, I'd rather select him if I were a GM.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
