I agree with WiB about ties vs the shootout.

If it were me, I think I'd even drop overtime in the regular season, and maybe even consider going to the 3-1 system they've gone to in soccer.

Bah, the tie is better than the shootout. At least if you tie, you do it as a team.

I'd much rather see OT go to a 10 minute 4-on-4, and eliminate the shootout altogether.

This is what I'd rather see as well.

My opinion may or may not be the same as yours. The choice is up to you.

Will have to disagree. For me, I get the feeling of being cheated by seeing a hard fought game end in a tie. The shootout not only eliminates the possibility of the tie, but it also adds one more exciting aspect to an already exciting game.

Sorry to bump this up--but I wasn't around, and I have to say I support getting rid of the shootout--and will take every ooportunity to say so--that's how much I hate them--and I said this when it was only a rumour.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

Why do people think the South hates hockey and we should give up trying to grow the game?

If I thought southern hockey was a completely lost cause, I wouldn't have kept teams in Dallas and Atlanta. But the truth is, southerners take longer to accept things that are seen as "northern." Football and baseball didn't put 8 teams in the south damn near overnight. Why should hockey be any different?

Did you not move the Thrashers to Cleveland? And anyway, the expansion was over the course of a decade; not "overnight". You're proposing moving the defending Stanley Cup champions...why?

Doesn't Dallas routinely sellout their home games?

And Atlanta's attendance has been on the increase for the past 3-4 seasons, and hockey as a whole is exponentially growing here.

If you feel a team has to move, why don't you look at the serious suspects, like Florida and Pittsburgh.....teams that aren't drawing too well or are having ownership squabbles.
