FiddySicks
I have faith in my cuz and his boys this week...That don't mean it's gon be an easy game, but as was said earlier, NO TEAM SCARES VICK MORE THAN THE BUCS.Plus, I PROMISE you the Bucs are angry. Very, very, angry. I know Bo (D. Brooks to you all) got up in some folks' arses (including himself) after Sunday' pathetic showing. Don't be surprised to see the Bucs--at least on defense--flying around like a bunch of possessed demons come Sunday. They gon be on a mission for Falcon blood 4'sho...That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Oh yeah they were on a mission today alright. They showed that a few times, especially on the plays where the Defense flowed in the OPPOSITE direction as did vick. I got a good feeling its gonna be a Very VERY long year......... That's awful for a quarterback. The only reason why the Falcons are 2-0 this season is that their defense has been amazingly good and have allowed a total of 9 points so far through 2 games. Vick is a great athlete but is he a terrible quarterback. I don't know if h just has problems throwing accurately or if he just has a problem reading defenses to where he has to scramble and run around. And from the outside it has seems he has gotten worse each year. I know it sounds crazy but maybe the Falcons should start think about moving him to WR or RB to better highlight his talents and shine the light away from what he obviously can't do and that is throw the ball effectively. Brother, this just screams football ignorance. Falcons win, convincingly. Scoring early, with a good mix of run and pass, then run to preserve the lead, and run exceptionally well. Insanely well. Why do you have a problem with this? If the Falcons were down 17, and all Vick could do is run, THEN you have a reason to worry about him, or want to move him to RB.The Falcons players, team, and gameplan was right on the past two weeks. If the defense keeps pitching shut-down ball like this, I hope you dont get dissapointed when Vick attempts 160 passes all year. Saints are the only competition in the division for the Falcons, it looks like in the South. What a strange thing to be saying week two, but the proof is in the pudding. JR,You're making the same arguement I was making about the Bears last season.Good running game, good defense, horrible passing game. "They're winning! It doesn't matter!"Vick needs to improve his passing ability for the falcons to take it to the next level. Nobody is disputing the guy is the most athletic QB in the league, or that the Falcons are the early favorites to win the South. But I'm sure you'd agree that the Falcons would be much better off if he was to throw for 200 yards, and run for 70 a game instead of 90 passing and 150 rushing. BlueSky
Let Mikey run. Sooner or later, as history shows, he'll get drilled and we'll get to see Matt Schaub. My Saints are 2-0 and they won on the road, but my optimism is tempered by the fact that Cleveland and Green Bay aren't very good. Still, coming back from their early mistakes in Green Bay was impressive.I hope they can slow down that Falcon running game. The Saints really need to win the time of possession battle, 'cause Vick, Dunn, et al can't do jack if they're seated comfortably on the bench. jkrdevil
Jason Whitlock had a good take on Vick in his ESPN column on Friday.4. Broadcasters are treating Michael Vick like he's Trent Dilfer rather than as one of the league's highest-paid players.Let me clear something up. Vick completed less than half of his passes and threw for just 140 yards in Atlanta's victory over Carolina. But you might not know this the way TV broadcasters gushed over Vick's performance.I guess Vick is the one NFL superstar quarterback we're supposed to judge on wins and losses alone. Sorry, I'm not going to do it. Vick is not Trent Dilfer. Vick is supposed to be a better version of Randall Cunningham.Dilfer won a Super Bowl and received his walking papers. Vick rides the Warrick Dunn bandwagon to a few regular-season victories and gets a $100 million contract. That ain't right.http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...whitlock/060914He's one of the highest paid players in the league, he should be putting up the numbers and as pcgd pointed out he is probably going to hold the Falcons back from reaching that next level. So why is Vick less of a QB if his passing stats aren't at the top of the heap despite him, well, just winning?</Obvious Rhetorical Question> [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. paynomind
Pat... Chi 2005: Good running game? They had 170 yards rushing in the first two games. Atlanta has 558 yard through 2 games. That's different. Sure, Chicago ended up 8th in the league, but my argument today is not the same as yours for Chicago week 2.Anyway, this is interesting enough a conversation that I'm goign to take it out of Tanks' thread.Falcons: Rushing Success, or Passing Failure NCFA Sunset Beach Tech - Octopi ΓΔΒ! Atlanta went 0-4 against Carolina and Tampa Bay last season, both teams having made the playoffs. Now, Atlanta is 2-0 against these two, and neither game was close. These teams ran all over the Falcon defense last year. This season, the Falcons held Tampa to 40 yards rushing and Carolina to 65 yards.Vick doesn't need to throw for 200+ yards. He just has to manage the game, keep his mistakes to a minimum, win the time of possession battle, and the Falcons will win games.
