Wellsandt
Allegedly there was a new NFLE logo presented this weekend in Dusseldorf. Read that on the message board of the Amsterdam Admirals.Well, here it is...Also the name of the league will be modified, from Europe to Europa.Dunno what to think about it. Anyone heard if that info is correct?

Anyone heard if that info is correct? That can't be a new logo. How are they going to fit that at the bottom of the jersey collars? Also, I think the "Europa" thing may just be a language thing, seeing as the event was in Germany. Europa may be Europe in German. I'm not sure about that though. Anyone speak German here? Back on topic, I seriously doubt this is a new NFLE logo. JQK
Europa is Latin for Europe. There is even one of Jupiter's moons named for it. Stay Tuned Sports Podcast
Brian in Boston
Europa is Latin for Europe.Europe is not of Latin derivation. It is Greek. It is derived from the Greek words eurys ("broad") and ops ("face"). There is even one of Jupiter's moons named for it.The Jovian satellite Europa is named after a figure in Greek mythology - specifically, a Phoenician princess abducted by Zeus and taken to Crete. Zeus transformed himself into a white bull in order to effect the abduction.Subsequently, the continent of Europe was named after the mythological figure Europa. In short, both the satellite Europa and the continent of Europe are named for the Phoenician princess. The Jovian moon is not named for the continent.

Fred T. Jane
Europa is German for Europe.Don't believe me? Then take it from a German! [Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008 Attention: In order to obtain maximum enjoyment from your stay at the CCSLC, the reader is advised that the above post may contain large amounts of sarcasm, dry humour, or statements which should not be taken in any true sort of seriousness. Dark Angel
It's nothing more than a cheap AFC logo knockoff that replace the A with the NFL Sheild.
Pharos04
I hope they don't change the NFL Europe logo. I always thought it was a great logo for a European league, with it resembling the EU flag and a subtle football in the middle created with shadows. This one looks like a crappy wordmark more than anything. keep the shield damnit

Sodboy13
What a crap logo, and what a downgrade from the previous shield. I'm guessing that this functions as a placeholder logo for the eventual transition to "NFL Deutschland," once they strongarm the Admirals out of Amsterdam and transfer the franchise to (insert random German city here.)Man, I miss the Dragons.
