I reserve the right to change my mind, but based on what I've seen so far, I like the side things. Then again, I'm not a hat wearer.

However, I don't like every team using the same template, the "homogenization" of the sport so to speak. I understand why they do it, but I liked it better when each team controlled its own designs.

Kinda surprised the Cubs and Braves moved away from the alternate logos on the caps...contrary to some, I'm a big fan of the tomahawk A and I love the walking Cub logo.

Interesting. I kind of like that Cubs cap with the reversed C colors. Glad they tried something different (and, of course, ditched the navy... can't say that enough).

Those stripes on the side... knew they were coming, looks about as bad as I figured. For whatever reason I like the double stripe better on the Cubs rather than one solid color on the Tigers... looks less pointless, but it is on both. Curious to see them in person and with the new jerseys. Still wish the old logo would have found its way to the blue pullover.

The alt logo never really worked on the cap -- maybe the Iowa Cubs version with just the cub head would have worked, but I always thought the full cub was too busy.

And the outline works for me on the Braves cap, not so much on the Yankees, but I'm shocked they didn't get to have the patch and strip navy and actually went with a different main logo. Seeing that ATlanta cap makes me think the Cubs cap might have looked even better with a little blue between the red and white on the C... maybe.

I love the walking Cub logo.

No, it makes me think of a bear approaching a dumpster at a park. Then I look at our offseason, and realize that's an accurate depiction of our free agent strategy.

I hate the new Braves BP hat. Now, I'm going to look for the old one when it goes on clearance in a few months. However, I don't know if I will buy the new version of the game hat or the alt. I already have the wool 5950 alt. If the new hat had the tomahawk A on it, then it would be a very nice hat.

I'm fine with the walking cub, but obviously I'm partial to past alt logos. The problem I have with it is that the blue alt jerseys are worn so much, both home and away, that it's almost become the primary logo. Add the BP jersey, the BP cap (now thankfully changed), the sleeve patch on home and road jerseys, and it's certainly more prominent than the C-ubs on the pinstripes. Not to mention all the merchandise that uses it... including a World Champs 1908 shirt I have (don't ask).

A C-ubs on the new BP jersey with these new blue caps might have given them an outside shot at my wallet (as opposed to absolutely no shot now).

Sorry to bump a topic from Page 3, but here's a photo of what's being referred to as the Red Sox "home" BP cap:

I'm betting the Yankees don't wear that. It looks like something sold outside the stadium for five bucks.

I hope you're right - the Yanks have managed to avoid actually wearting all the silly designs on the field - they didn't even have the contrasting sandwich bill on their 39-thirty cap.

For once I agree with you Gothamite. George will never stand for those to be worn.

But, can MLB make/demand that they wear such hideous chapeaus?

Kinda pointless if you ask me. Pretty much like last years hats minus some of the cool alt logos and plus that stupid side piping.
