The 2007 New Era BP and Game Caps are now available at www.minorleagues.com. Here is the description for the BP cap.

New Era 2007 BP Cap Design.

To the naked eye the latest edition of New Era's classic 3930 design looks identical to that of previous years, but looks can be deceiving. Every inch of this cap is infused to New Era moisture management technology, a revolutionary advancement in cap engineering that results in superior dryness, ultimate comfort and total durability. This cap wicks sweat with unprecedented efficiency, and feels better and lasts longer that any cap of its kind. Not only is New Era moisture management part of the Official On-Field Cap of Major League Baseball, it was developed in conjunction with the players themselves, who tested and approved it on the field of play. The newly designed cap has the following features:

* Vapor Management - Prevents moisture from developing even during the toughest workout.

* Holds Shape - Performance fabric is more durable that any cap ever worn by professional athletes.

* Colors Stay Vibrant - The entire cap including team insignia is built to resist color fading

* Performance Sweatband - Stays dry and reduces the amount of sweat stains

* Cap Stays Dry - On top of the Batting Practice cap's traditionally comfortable feel, it is engineered to keep you dry.

* Minimizes Order - Another benefit of dryness is cleanliness which significantly reduces order.

And the game cap.

I love how either Minorleagues.com or New Era can't figure out that order is significantly different than odor.

Thanks for posting the info, Majestic.

In the interests of playing the devil's advocate, the dryness and less sweat stains might mean that the team won't have to order as many hats to replace those damaged by sweat stains.

Good point...never thought about that. I don't know for sure, but I would assume New Era provides the hats to teams for free or a drastically reduced cost, so an order of hats wouldn't be so much a money issue as it is just a hassle for equipment managers...

Glad to hear it. I love the new style of caps. I ahve a Detroit one and both of my Arizona ones are the new material. They are the three most comfortable caps I own. I was going to post this earlier, but the sports shop down in Fisherman's wharf had all of the wool Authentic Collection hats at 50% off, so I bought the final set of my Authentic Collection. I now have every one of the MLB Authentic Collection hats, except for the Royals, which I plan on ordering as soon as the new style is released.

P.S. Anyone else notice this? Both Toronto had a listed alt, and so did SD. Hmmmm, I wonder.......

I just got my new Syracuse Chiefs hat and it's an old wool 59FIFTY.

I heard the change was impacting the minors, but I guess not yet.

Interesting, too...

they list the Orioles' "O's" cap as their "road" hat, and also list another alternate hat (not shown)

what the heck is Angelos up to know?

and PS...I friggin' hate the O's hat. 1) we're not Oakland. 2) one more slap in the face to Baltimore that he puts a letter on the hat and it's not a B.

I remember living in DC pre-Nationals. The Orioles promoted themselves as a "regional" team, w/ DC as part of their market. I resented having such a crappy, mismanaged team foisted upon DC. Sounds like Angelos hasn't given up the fantasy that the entire mid-Atlantic region belongs to the Orioles. A pity.

And all this is going to raise the cost of a hat to what?

According the minorleagues site, suggested retail will be $31.99 but they offer at 25% off. I am guessing that Lids and other big box/franchisee retailers will have them for $31 or $32.99. I am waiting for the 50% sales from either minorleagues.com or starstruck.com and finishing my Authentic Collection. If the new hats are 50/50 poly & wool I am done collecting.

I thought the whole point of the material switch was that now you wouldn't need to.
