I'm sorry but Andy Reid must be considered a bad in game coach. First off I don't like them huddling their with only 3 minutes to go and them behind. I know they were only down by 3 but show some urgency. This killed them a couple years ago in the Super Bowl. Second when you have the ball with 2 minutes to go and you are trailing you do not punt under any circumstances. Especially when the other team has ran it down your defense throat.

Saints win a good win for them (obviously).

I want to blame Andy for not trying a somewhat unconventional tactic on third and 1 there.

I don't think my defense can stop them from one yard, so I play a junk defense. Saints score a TD, go up 10, but you have a shot.

Anyone else feel that the NFC East was the most overrated division in all of football this season? Three teams in, and theyre all 0-3 (Yeah yeah yeah. Eagles won, only because they played the Giants, another NFC East team)

Don't they have to win next week to claim "The Pennant"? At least for the NFC...

Either way, congrats to the Saints for making it to their first NFC Championship game...It's only been what, 40 years of waiting? I'm sure they've got to be at least a sentimental favorite for many people....

Of course they got 3 teams in which more than the other NFC divisions that got only 1 team in. So year it was an overrated division but it was still better than the other NFC divisions.

A bigger win, well, for me at least.

With the Aints win, it means that a team from the NFC South has played in the NFC title game in all five years since the new divisional alignment was put into place, and not only that, every team in the division has been there at least once now. Now honestly, who wouldve thought that at the beginning? Four teams who have some of the most miserable histories create by far the most dominant division in the NFC!!! :D

I dunno. I think the Seahawks (Beat the Cowboys), Saints (Beat the Eagles), and Bears* (Could potentially move further than any NFC East team), would beg to differ.

*If they win of course.

EDIT: Damn, the threads got combined.....

They have been bad in the past, yes, but over the past decade I'd say those four teams have been among the strongest in the NFL, so this doesn't really surprise me.

Andy Reid should be stripped of his headset and clipboard once the clock reads 2:00 or less. You go for it on 4 and 10, and make it. The penalty makes it 4 and 15. Is it THAT big of a difference?

If the Saints get a first down, it's over. It doesn't matter at what point on the field they get that first down. If you go for it and don't make it, you are still in basically the same spot you are in if you punt.

Congrat's to the Saints for not giving up, and winning the game. I can't help but think that Andy Reid either lost the Eagles the game, or at least didn't give them a shot to win.

Yes the top of each division might be better but the not the divisions as a whole. 3 out of the 4 teams in the NFC east made the playoffs, which is the most a division can get in with the 2 wild card format. The other divisions have one dominant team where as the NFC East was the deepest most competitive division in the conference. Of course this is all by NFC standards as I think all of the AFC divisions are deeper and better than the NFC East.

This is the happiest Tom Benson has been since his 1st wife died and he got to marry his young (young for him) girlfriend.

I bet she can't wait for him to die so she can get all his $$$ & team

I thought Tom Benson was NEVER going to a game again. Was that not his speach last year. Amazing a team wins and you get fans--- Sometimes I don't get owners of teams.

Good for the Saints, if the 'Hawks fall I am on their bandwagon and the Colts.

Archie could show up at the Super Bowl and be a winner either way.

Sorry I am old and still would like to see Archie Manning have some form of happiness over football.

The LAST thing the NFL needs is to have another trophy wife become an owner. <_<

I concur, 4th & 10 or 4th & 15, same difference. This is it, balls to the wall, you have to go for it. Punting at that point is conceeding and you may as well just tell them team to go into the locker room.

Why? So they can convert it and the refs penalize them a further 5 yards?
