Crosby also jumped on Cheechoo and punched him 4 times in the back of the neck

Yea after Cheechoo hit a guy from behind causing him to break his wrist and still hasnt come back. I think Cheechoo deserved a few punches in the back of the head.

I believed they both got tied up and slid into the boards together, then Crosby joined in

Regardless of what had transpired beforehand, that just goes to show Cindy's true colours. He doesn't know hot to control himself in the heat of the moment. Who skates up to someone and punches other players in the back of the head...wait that has been done, though on a more serious scale..that being the Bertuzzi incident

He doesnt know how to control himself in the heat of the moment?

Try scoring many breakouts and rushes. Scoring in shootouts. ANd many other things where other guys wouldve paniced. The kid is under pressure every day just being a penguin.

THe kids only 19, and for him to have done what hes done, youd have to be cool under pressure.

You're jealous, and are harboring a man-crush, and this is the only outlet for you. It's so obvious, it's cute.

As has been mentioned before, he's 19. Here, let me bold that for you. He's NINEFRICKINGTEEN and dominating a league of MEN.

With all the media focus he's had for the last 3-4 years, I think he's holding up remarkably well, well enough that some schlub in Cole Harbour can't wait to pounce on him for any slight deviation of what he considers to be Ultimate Sports Guy Behavior.

Also, voting for Philly to go to Jersey, for a box of pucks and a "Sweatin' to the Oldies" dvd. Not the Richard Simmons stuff, I mean granny porn. Cuz you know, you're acting like an old lady about this.

Syd doesn't get far enough national attention that he should get. obviously everyone in PA knows who he is, but ask somebody out side of the state of pennsylvania who Crosby is and they'll think your referring to Crosby, Stills, and Nash. i know i asked somebody at work who is a mild hockey fan what they thought of Crosby and he looked at me with a blank stare like he had no clue who he was.

I don't agree with that.

Wow @ ShawnM. Seriously, if you could trade any player on the Flyers straight up for Crosby, you'd do it in a heartbeat if you really "cared about your team" and wanted to stick with them and see them win. Hell, you'd do two or three straight up for Sid. That's how good he is, and the hate is just ridiculous jealousy.

Given the amount of times Sid has personally owned the Flyers, I don't think you really have any leverage in this situation other than to say that you are showing the exact same immaturity that you cast on Sid, "crying" because things aren't going your way.

Besides, this "immaturity" you speak of is just an indomitable will to win. The kid wants to win games more than anyone out there. He expresses this in ways that are misinterpreted by many, such as yourself.

By the way, the Cheechoo incident was merely Crosby defending Mark Eaton after Cheechoo laid into him with a cheap shot, breaking his wrist and sidelining him up through next week (we hope). It's the same kind of teammate defense that most Flyer fans will praise some goon like Hatcher for doing. The hypocrisy is sick and its mostly bias.

Oh jesus, the guy must not really care about hockey or he's none too bright if he doesn't know Crosby. Fair or not, the guy has come into the league with the burden of being the NHL's savior and the hype has followed accordingly.

Actually that is where you are wrong. If the Flyers were to acquire Cindy I would stop cheering for the Flyers, and more than likely stop watching hockey altogether. I used to be a leaf fan when potvin was in toronto, the moment they acquired Joseph, who was labelled the saviour by the media and fans alike, I cheered for someone else. I would much prefer Cindy stay in Pittsburgh, or go to any other team but the Flyers. I don't care.

Why would I be jealous of Cindy? What is there to really be jealous of? I've never aspired to play hockey, or wish he played for the Flyers. I just don't like him!

[Croatia National Team Manager Slavan] Bilic then went on to explain how Croatia's success can partially be put down to his progressive man-management techniques. "Sometimes I lie in the bed with my players. I go to the room of Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric when I see they have a problem and I lie in bed with them and we talk for 10 minutes." Maybe Capello could try getting through to his players this way too? Although how far he'd get with Joe Cole jumping up and down on the mattress and Rooney demanding to be read his favourite page from The Very Hungry Caterpillar is open to question. --The Guardian's Fiver, 08 September 2008

sure he got hit with Blakes stick, 1 it never touched his body ,it's all jersey, and 2 even if he knailed him, Crosby is 19 years old and a grown man, he should dropped like someone shot him!

I'm admit he's got all the skill in the world, and could very well be the best player in the league, but he is in no way, a class-act!

Great player, butna big whinner!

Then you're not a real hockey fan. A real hockey fan, who is also a Leafs fan (as you claim to have been), wouldn't ditch the Blue and White over one player. I was as big a Potvin fan as the next guy. "The Cat" was the reason I became a goaltender. Was I pissed when CuJo replaced him? At first I was, but during that period I never once thought about switching teams. Then I warmed up to CuJo, who became my favorite goaltender during my early teens. When he bolted I didn't follow him, I stayed with Toronto.

Point being, you don't just switch teams because a player comes or goes. Your abandoning of the Leafs pretty much proves you're not a true fan.

And I have to ask, why the Flyers?

As for Crosby, your dislike for him can only be jealousy. He's not only the NHL's next great star, he's from your neck of the woods! If he were from the Kitchener-Waterloo area I would buy one of his sweaters in a heartbeat.

So cut out the "I'm jealous because someone from my area is succeeding in ways I could only imagine" crap.

Crosby's immature behavior didn't sit well for me last year, but this year I've seen him drastically mature. He's emerged as one of the Pens' team leaders, and on top of that he's leading the NHL in points at only nineteen years old. Yes, he complained to much last year, but other then the Blake incident this year, I haven't seen it since. And truth be told, Crosby was in the right in the Blake situation. Cosby essentially got penalized for defending himself.

^^Truth. Sid hasn't done anything this year to merit any sort of Don Cherry-type criticism. He doesn't whine or complain anymore, he just gets really pissed, and uses it as motivation. Immaturity? No. Competitiveness? Yes -- the same type you'd expect out of any 19-year old in the same situation.

In response to Icecap, i chose the Flyers b/c they are much more formidable team then that of the Leafs. (evident in the last three seasons the leafs have/haven't been in the playoffs). Maybe not this season. Also, Eric was playing for the team at the time I switched. So it made sense that I cheer for a hometown hero. Hometown to me b/c he played for the Oshawa Generals.

The other reason why I switched was b/c all of my friends, and schoolmates went on about how great the leafs were. The beginning of the season to, the media (when the leafs went on that winning streak) already declared them Cup contenders, and Raycroft was the next coming of JESUS..well maybe not as extreme but you get the idea.
