I have no idea, but I'll guess the Detroit Tigers.

Edit: Because I suspect he did it as a Philadephia Athletic.

Tnak the "on this date" on your website is incorrect.

Ty Cobb ended his career with 4,189 hits not 4,191. The 4,191 was a statistical error.

When did he lose two hits?

I remember Pete Rose got the record at 4,192

It was changed a couple years after Rose did it. It depends on what site you use. I believe MLB.com still recognizes the 4,191, but the Baseball Encyclopedia and other publications use 4,189.
