Hey y'all!

I hope this is the right place to post this -

I have been interested in finding one of those cooperstown collection hats for the Braves from thier Milwaukee days (1953-1966), and I havent been able to find one anywhere. Its basically the same as thier primary caps but with a block "M" instead (just about everyone knows what it is). I g2g right now but to make it quick has anyone seen one floating around anyhwere? Thanks in advance!

heh, i don't figure you're dropping by my neck of the woods anytime soon, so letting you know the Lids here has Milwaukee Braves caps is useless info to ya. and now, some more useful things to know...somewhat appropriately, you can find the caps in...where else...the Brewers' throwback section.

Totally figures MLB Shop would do that. For a long time, the only place to find St. Louis Browns stuff was in the Cardinals store, not the Baltimore Orioles store.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

Does kinda a little sense, since those are the biggest markets for them. They used to cross-reference them, selling them in both the Atlanta Braves listings and the Brewers listings. That made the most sense at all.

They also sell a Twins Enterprise Clean Up version of that cap, which I recommend most highly. Not a big fan of American Needle, but the Twins stuff is always excellent.

This is the cap I most commonly wear:

Hey - maybe they put it in the Brewers section because it was first worn by the Milwaukee Brewers of the American Association in the 1940s and 1950s? No? :P

you might also want to check mickeysplace:

I seriously think we need to pin this in it's own thread, or maybe I'll toss this in my Sig, because I cannot emphasize the awesomeness of Mickeysplace.com enough.

Get the Twins version. It is adjustable, but their hats IMO are quality. I have several. The American Needle Cooperstown are hit or miss from a size perspective, and their 'authentics' are anything but. Check out the 1950-70 Phillies piece of junk they sell on mlb.com if you would like an example. The 'P' is a mess, and far from authentic. And all it would have taken was 3 minutes of internet research.

I hate laziness.

How accurate is Mickey's Place?

This is listed as a Pittsburgh Pirates 1977 Cooperstown Collection Hat

Pretty sure that's a Niagra hat.

Neither is this a 1984 San Diego Padres cap:

Looks like Syracuse to me....

Doesn't change the fact that they have an amazing selection of caps you don't see elsewhere, but they do make mistakes.

I've bought two caps from Mickey's Place. They gave me the wrong size on the first cap. The second cap was fine. I'll probably buy a couple of caps from them this summer.

Wow...nice website. Thanks for the tip. Its in Cooperstown? I'll be there in July. Guess I'll have to stop in there.

As for hats, I used to be a fitted-New Era guy. However, I have found over the years, that I really like the low profile Twins Enterprise lids. Either fitted or adjustable, they are the most confortable caps I own and seem to hold up pretty well.

I've never ordered from them, but I have gone in when in Cooperstown. Amazing store.

No kidding. Caps all over the place, so much so as to be almost intimidating.

I bought a San Diego Padres throwback years ago (at the Dave Winfield induction, I think). It was between the Padres hat and a New Era Phillies Schmidt-era hat, and looking back, I wish I had gone with the Phillies. The Padres hat had a high profile -- it sit so high on my head that it was completely unwearable. I've long since lost the cap so I don't know the manufacturer, but I was definitely disappointed.

I still have yet to get that Phillies hat...

One of the things I enjoy most about going to Cooperstown is walking down the high street, and going in all the shops. So much great stuff jammed into all those places. Shop after shop with patches - commemorative patches, logo patches, event patches.

I always spend more than I budget for the trip....

If you're still looking ....

Cooperstown Collection has Milwaukee Braves hats ... fitted too.

Cooperstown Collection site

That's the same American Needle cap available on MLB.com.

As for New Era, if their quality control wasn't so miserable I could almost overlook that crummy Braves cap logo.
