I really miss the Raptor's purple...

It was, you know, unique. Red, black, and silver is already present in the Trail Blazers. I wish they'd bring a purple alternate or atleast add purple outline, but that is not going to happen. Teams are getting more and more generic, it seems. I prefer unique combinations.

The Suns, Kings, and Lakers just called to remind you about them.

But the Raptors looked nothing like those teams when they wore purple...

He said the Raptors' purple was unique. He didn't say anything about purple, black, red, and silver.

Back on-topic...I agree that the NBA needs more unique color combinations, not similar ones:

No one else in the major sports used this color combination.

Threads been cleaned up, nothing to see here -- move along.

really wow? my time was just wasted. You couldn't just close it and remake the thread?

I wrote something for them to read and you delete it. I apologized and now it's gone. now everyone will think i'm some bad guy. wow.

... atleast do something to this member: SenatorJake with this comment "As a canadian from outside the region of Toronto, I think I speak for a majority of us when I say:

Basketball is a bunch of overgrown freaks running around in their underwear playing wuss-ball."

like seriously that wasn't necessary.

This is why I love the Hornets. I usually don't like purple but I think they use it well (as a complimentary color). Teal, yellow and purple just works for them. I hope they don't rebrand their look anytime soon.

from what some other threads have mentioned, it looks like the Hornets might turn more focus to a "Mardi Gras Blue" which is like a purple, but not. Im hoping they don't do that and keep what they have going...its nice and unique imo.

as for the Raps, i agree to the fact that they had a unique color set and the nba needs to take heed to that fact and not marginalize all the teams into red-black and navy-red combos.

And apparently I wasted all my time having to clean up your mess.

Closing and remaking the thread would have taken longer and would have accomplished the same thing, if people want to read your apology they can go to the graveyard, which is where a closed thread would have gone.

Didn't the Raps only use purple to get back at Americans for putting a team called the Mighty Ducks in the NHL?

Anyway, I think Toronto looks great now, but agree about the scheme maybe being overused a bit. I thought they'd have been better off going with a blue and white color scheme, with maybe a little red trim.

I agree with the original poster. Their uniforms and logo are much better now, but they should have kept purple as a trim.

Either red, black and purple

OR

Red, purple, and silver.

Right, and their purple was unique - taken in context of its complementary colors.

I think basketball is the only sport left where purple isn't a uniquely used color.

I think the Raptors' purple was awful.

Now the Bucks' purple ... thing of beauty :D

Have to disagree there (unless you were being sarcastic...). I love green and red as a color scheme, and it's very underused in pro sports. The Minnesota Wild look great, the Bucks look nice, hell I miss the old red and green Devils.
