TFoA
All that said, I'm going to eat crow and say congratulations to Boston and just tip my hat. They gave every reason in the book to critics at the start of the post-season and consistently won when it counted. Then shutting down Kobe in Games 1 and 2, and bouncing back from 20+ down in Game 4... what can you say? I may hate them, but they're the rightful champions this season. At least I can smile knowing KG will finally have a ring.Same here. I'm a believer now. If they win the championship, they deserve it because that was an amazing comeback. At least I can say that the Hawks took the future NBA Champs to 7 games, because the Lakers are done.
PeytonManningRocks
Yuck. That's all I can say. I may not be the biggest fan of the NBA as a whole (especially with all the talk of the "fixed" 02 WCF), but I was hoping the Lakers would tie this thing up.Oh well at least I don't feel like I have to watch Sunday. As Dandy Don Meredith says, "Turn out the lights, the party's over!"How many days until football season?
GottaDeal
I love that this series will likely only go 5 games, if only because it will hurt ABC/ESPN. Serves them right for all their unwarranted hype for this series. Oh, and tonight OFFICIALLY ends the absurd Kobe/MJ comparisons that some of you hayseeds have been doing for years. It ends tonight. Sorry.

However, down 3 games to 1 and with two more games on the road if they can even pull off Game 5, it's looking verrrry grim for Los Angeles. As for any Finals MVP talk, I'm giving to Paul Pierce at this point. It'd be either him or maybe Kobe just because he IS the Lakers, but you know they're not giving MVP to a player on the losing team.

I mean LA is really good at home, they could really easily win Game 5, and then steal one here, I mean then we got 7 games. Good god, I'm gonna kill myself. The mood swings are unbelievable. TFoA
Dude, your team just came from 20+ points behind to win on the road, which is amazing considering the fact that they might go down in the record books as the worst road playoff team to win the championship. Trust me, the Lakers are finished.

I would be hard pressed to give it to either KG or Allen at this point cause they seem to vanish all the time. Rondo would be a longshot, and House doesn't even make my ballot. As for other awards, I would give MIP (Most Inconsistant Player) to the Lakers' Sasha Vujacic. It blows my mind how bipolar that dude is from game-to-game.

He was referring to the Lakers winning Games 6 and 7.My prediction is that the Lakers win Game 5, sending it back to Boston, where the Celtics take Game 6. After what I witnessed last night I can't see it going 7 anymore.I'm not ready to proclaim the Boston Celtics as NBA Champions, but even as a long-dormant, quasi-fan of the team, "World Champion Boston Celtics" is starting to sound pretty good to me. Audiodrama
I walked into work this morning at 8:00 after staying up 'til 2:30 to watch all the postgame press conferences, interviews and analysis. I'm exhausted. And every bit of my exhaustion is worth it. It can be painful at times (see: "Super Bowl XLII"), but I love being a sports fan in Boston. One more to go. Since the start of 2002, Boston sports teams have won five world championships. None of them have been clinched in the city of Boston. (Three Super Bowls were in New Orleans, Houston and Jacksonville; Two World Series were in St. Louis and Denver.)I'd love to see a world championship get clinched in Boston for once. And look, I'm not complaining in the least. I've enjoyed the living hell out of seeing my teams win all the time. But having it in Boston would be nice too. I think winning it at home is always better than winning it on the road. As my history will attest, I'm no Red Sox fan but I still wish they could have gotten at least one of those titles at home. The real fans deserved it. But I'm sure you'll take two on the road as opposed to none at all. Maybe the Red Sox will win it at home this year. Your wet blanket aside, I think the NL will win this year's All Star game and I think the leagues are closer in talent this year than they have been in recent years. As of today at least, I think The Phillies and Cubs, should they get there, would have a very good shot against anyone from the AL in the World Series. But then again you may be right and Boston wins it on the road again.
