Celtics vs. Lakers

We should take a cue from WFAN's Steve Somers and refer to the Lakers as the "Hollywood Fakers" for the balance of this thread...because that's exactly what they are (at least on this night!)

So what was worse, Boston's showboating at the end, or LA's total and absolute lack of pride? I say they counter each other to a balance.

I was thinking the same thing. When I saw that alley-oop and saw the reaction from Phil Jackson's I wasn't sure if he was pissed off at the Celtics rubbing it in his face or his players standing around letting it all happen.

And I know he is just ecstatic and with good reason, but to me Keven Garnet is making a fool out of himself right down during this post-game interview. (and I personally really like KG)

Eh, I could've told you beforehand that Boston would showboat after they damn near had a championship celebration after they beat the Hawks. Especially when KG put on that late elbow on Zaza Pachulia. So yeah, no surprise there.

I am surprised at how LA went out. It's like they just quit after they realized they were down big. But I will give the Lakers this: NOBODY had the Lakers going this far, especially when Kobe was crying about a trade during the preseason. The fact that they made it this far (Gasol trade notwithstanding) is sort of a minor miracle.

You could say the same about the worst-to-first Celtics, but we're talking about two entirely different teams there.

Showboating? That wasn't showboating...it was running out the clock. Happens in the NFL all the time.

They were shooting the ball with 20 seconds on the shot-clock left. Not to mention continuing to throw up threes and alley-oops like it was a street ball game.

Error Stuart Scott.

DO NOT refer to the TD Banknorth Garden as the new Boston Garden. It will not be and never will be.

Who cares? Let the bench guys have some fun. It's not like they would have even been on the floor if the game was close. Now they can say they scored points, dunked, etc. in the clincher. I don't think it was any big deal.

Helluva season for The Celtics.

They gave Doc Rivers a gatorade bath with like two minutes left on the clock. That was DEFINITELY showboating. But considering the Lakers bent over and took it like an underpaid hooker, it was completely justified on Boston's part.
