illini1 Posted August 6, 2008 Share Posted August 6, 2008 I thought one of the main reasons Michigan switched to Adidas was that they promised them they wouldn't have to wear the same gear as other teams. All of their gear was supposed to be unique to Michigan. Michigan didn't like that the coaches gear and other things were the same as all the other Nike schools. Michigan will be wearing the same stuff as any other adidas school. I'm sure adidas will eventually be transitioning many of their schools to the new jersey type just as Nike has done. They did with Nebraska in 2002 and there was enough of an outcry from the fans that they switched back in 2003. They have since re-introduced the stripes on the pants. Sorry about the "2002 Away". Most of the changes are on the road white jersey.Anyway, back to the Arkansas jerseys, which is the point of the thread...They screwed up and got rid of one of the best looking jerseys in football. Sure, perhaps a Sooner look-a-like, but it was clean, simple, and just looked good. No need for metaphorical/abstract striping. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half. Plus they came out in mono red which sucks.
