It's always cheesed me off that the Skins have been wearing white at home for so long...now if only they'd go back to their 2002 throwbacks, all would be right in the football world. (Gibbs' first home game was vs. Dallas) But he later said he was influenced by his time with the Chargers and just liked the white better.Norv kept the white-at-home going, but Schottenheimer switched back and Spurrier was apparently not bothered enough to notice and didn't change anything there.I really like the idea. M59 Posted August 1, 2008 Share Posted August 1, 2008 I think the numbers on the burgundy jerseys are too thick, compared to those on the white jerseys.I hope never to see the Redskins in a monochrome set ever agian.The only other change I would make to the current kit is thinning the pants stripes. Stodgy, old Gibbs wouldn't let it happen, since he thought it was still 1982. With a fresh face as the head coach, I think it happens this year for at least that first prime time game against Pittsburgh.They will also wear burgandy against Dallas, Philadelphia and the Giants at home too. burgundy Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 I personally love the white on burgundy, but it does get rather repetitive when they wear it for 14 or 15 games a season, so it'll be nice to see a little more of the burgundy on white combo. The all whites I can deal with, but I will lose all respect for Zorn if he has them wear all burgundy. Very few monos work, and burgundy definately isn't one of them. No, Gibbs thought that a professional football team should look good, and not like a high school squad. If the players do decided to look like trash and wear monochrome, I hope they are thrashed so resoundingly and humiliated to the point that they can never wear the combo again.
