TBGKon
Speaking of minor league baseball congratulations the Sacramento RiverCats (AAA) & Stockton Ports (A) for winning their respective league championships. Pacific Coast & California. Both are Oakland A's farm teams.WOO!!!! 4th title in 6 years!!! Now all we have to do is win the Bricktown Showdown vs Scranton/Wilkes-Barre later today and we'll have our second straight AAA title.Take down those damn Yankees for me, really wish the Rays-affiliated Bulls won, but hey you can't win them all. Oso
A friend of mine who works at the Nugget suggested the name "Reno Sparks," thus giving a nod to the No. 2 community in town. That'd be the best subtle nickname in all of sports.Granted, I'm not sure anyone outside of Nevada would get it and a lot of people would gripe that they "ripped it off" from the WNBA team, but being a former Nevada resident myself, I think it'd be a cool and fitting name.As for Aces, it definitely fits. As I said before, I think the name would be more suitable for Las Vegas when the 51s make their name change (due to Nellis Air Force Base being in Vegas and the obvious tie in to Vegas's gaming industry), however it definitely works for Reno.Other names I've heard tossed around are Mustangs and Miners. However, if they can get the name Silver Sox, it'd be perfect for the team.

GBLMedford
Reno's GBL team is most likely moving to Carson City.Western Nevada College does have a field. But the chances of the GBL's Silver Sox relocating to Carson City are not looking good. That would be a good thing to have the new Reno PCL team absorb the Silver Sox name into their new identity. But we'll have to wait and see. They may still become the Reno Sidewinders.

Cujo
The New York Times reports they will be named the Reno Aces.Set for completion in April, in time for the 2009 season, the ballpark will be the home of the Triple-A baseball franchise formerly known as the Tucson Sidewinders. The new name of the team, a farm club of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will be the Reno Aces. Also, RenoAces.com will take you to Reno's official MiLB webpage. Sodboy13
Kinda bland, but the diamond in the "A" makes for a cute, subtle touch. Blackjack76
Umm...OK, I'll say it...this is really, really bad on quite a few levels:1) "RENO" - Keep the same stroke size on each letter rather than have an enlarged R.2) The Baseball - Four outlines? Unless the inner-most silver/gray is a shadow...then the whole logo is shadowed from different light sources (Aces light source is to the left instead of directly above like the baseball.3) "Aces" doesn't have the same color exterior outline as the baseball (thin white versus thick silver/gray)The only plus I see is the font used for the unnecessary "Baseball Club" mark...that font should have been used for "RENO".The AFL Dragons definitely win the "Best Logo Unveiled 9/23/08" Award. I hate to say it...but the Aces flunked this.p.s. Sodboy, baby ducks are cute.

Blackjack76
http://pacificcoast.league.milb.com/gen/mi...3/cf459620.htmlThe full compliment of logos and uniforms.I mentioned today that I didn't want to see a cliche'd spade logo...and the away jersey mark looks similar to the New Orleans Hornets.
