What the heck was that Panda whining about? Excuse me but I'll say the same thing I said about Prince Fielder, you aren't as good if you can't always dive over the plate and hit everything middle out. Seriously, MLB needs to allow pitchers to throw inside and needs to start ejecting batters who whine about being hit. Sandoval's baby routine was as bad as Youkilis' temper-tantrum and throwing of the helmet. Where's Bob Gibson and Don Drydale who would drill you just for digging in the batters box or looking funny. None of these pitchers have any gonads. I think the last pitcher that had any gonads to throw inside and not give a darn, was Steroid Roger. I have no clue what these pitching coaches and roving minor league pitching coaches are teaching these guys, but it sure as heck ain't pitching and how to intimidate the batter. Oh wait, I forgot, when you have guys like Mike Butcher, etc. who were just journeyman pitchers, of course they can't teach intimidation. Seriously look at the list of pitching coaches and none of them exactly strike fear into you. My philosophy is, drill the first guy and then pitch inside to every other guy and make them fear the ball.

His frustration stemmed from just how awful the officiating was all series long, nothing more. Pablo is usually a really level-headed dude, I would've been pissed too if I were him.

Alright, Victorino didn't order a beer while he was out in centerfield, why was he served one? And while he was trying to catch a ball too?

I just saw that, too. That's a straight up disgrace. Being a huge Cubs fan, I'm embarassed. That's not what Chicago is about. Yeah, we're prolly frustrated about how that game has turned out but you don't have to toss a beverage out to one of the other teams players. Show some god damn respect and get out, man.

Sheesh

I don't disagree with you one bit, other than I think it's wrong to put it all on the coaches and pitchers.

Look at the punishments that have been bandied about recently in baseball. Ejections, suspensions, fines, etc. As I mentioned before, Cards pitcher Brad Thompson got suspended for simply brushing back David Wright.

These guys aren't allowed to throw inside anymore. If they're even remotely suspected of intentionally throwing at the batter (whether they hit him or not), warnings will surely be issued, and sometimes that's skipped.

It's no surprise that the best pitchers in the game today still pitch inside and have the control that they don't worry about accidentally plunking a guy, but it's hard to blame the other guys who can't help but fear an automatic ejection if a hard pitch gets away and hits a guy when all they were trying to do was establish the inside zone as their own.

I caught that too. What a joke, it was good to see the other fans not putting up with it. The guy was probably pretty drunk, but that's no excuse.

Yea, hopefully that won't get as much negative publicity as other infamous Cub fan incidences, but I doubt it will.

EDIT: On the bright side, my 200th post :P

The Braves take care of business against the Nationals (for a change), and now stare down a 3-game series with the Phillies to determine just how serious they are about contending for the NL East and/or Wild Card.

I think that the Braves should start playing 2 game series against the Nats from here on out because that seems to be the only way that they can beat them on a regular basis. :P

But yeah, huge series against the Phils coming up. 4 1/2 behind the Phils, 3 out of the Wild Card. Holy crap, the Braves actually have a shot this year.

The umpires' philosophy would fast become "eject you after the first batter." Lots of luck with that plan, numbnuts.

And the Phils have swept the Cubs at Wrigley for the first time in 25 years. I have one thing to say.

L_flag.gif

The way they played the Phils and Rockies over the past week (1-6), an "L" deserves to be flown over Wrigley.

And the guy who tossed the beer on Victorino last night deserves a giant "L" branded on his forehead. Idiot.

I don't give a rat's behind. 90% of these umpires have no clue what they are doing or how to umpire a baseball game. Half the problem of baseball is that the umpires don't have a clue of how to umpire or police the game. If they would just start ejecting the babies that are today's batters for whining about a ball being thrown inside, we'd solve half this crap. The real numbnuts are the umpires and the batters.

Turns out this guy is getting turned in to the police. The Cubs' organization is pressing charges.

Then put on a chest protector and mask, and get behind the catcher and show them that you know everything.

 The umpires are employed by Major League Baseball, an umpire who acted on your accord would not have job with MLB very quickly and here's why: The fans aren't there to see an umpire eject all of their favorite players.

Also, players aren't whining about inside pitches, they're whining about the intentional HBP's and the balls that almost hit them (ie. the batter gets out of the way). And they have a case. I'm willing to bet that a professional MLB umpire knows more about the game than Oddball from CCSLC.
