Ry
This might be a stupid question, but I don't follow college baseball at all. Is the stripe above the knee common or is it an Under Armour thing? I had never seen it before until this week.
RyanB06
I've never seen that before on any level. Must be a UA thing (and that's not good). BallWonk
I've never seen that before on any level. Must be a UA thing (and that's not good).Looks like they just lost a sword fight.Anyway, aside from being ugly, which is a subjective judgment, that stripe is bad baseball. It's high enough that the ump's eye is not going to be fooled into raising the bottom of the strike zone, but disruptive enough that it will make it harder for the ump to judge the bottom of the strike zone. So in all likelihood, Utah has just given opposing pitchers an extra two inches on the bottom of the strike zone. Good plan, UnderArmour!
JayJaxon
If it were not for that sword slash, it would actually be a pretty nice looking uniform.
DomTheAthlete29
Pepperdine has this same slash at the knee. Its ugly. Sometimes UA just tries to hard. Good plan, UnderArmour! No offense, but I don't buy that it'd expand the strike zone just yet. Maybe if you could explain why you feel this way it'd make more sense to me. cheo25
It's an Under Armour thing. South Carolina wore white pants last night with similar stripes on the leg. It wasn't a pant-length stripe, but rather a similar stripe to the Utah knee stripes.Typical bad design -- stripes and piping for stripes' and pipings' sake. sacker12
Cheo is right. Auburn wears a similar pattern to Auburn. Honestly, I don't like what UA is doing to college baseball uniforms. Majestic does a much better job with the teams they sponsor.
tBBP
I'm not so sure those "stripes" are even really that. They look more like a piece of fabric sewn up under--sorta like a tri-fold crease, similar to the pleat you'll find on the backs of many dress shirts, except in reverse.(And, one other thing...I myself wouldn't even call those "stripes", as those are meant, in my mind, to go all the way around something. These things are more like "slashes" to me, as someone else said earlier.)Either way it goes...wow. I can honestly say that's the first time I've seen anything like that on a baseball uniform. By themselves, they probably wouldn't be all THAT bad...but combined with whatever is going on with the jersey, it just looks, well, not right. (And yeah...I think UA was really trying too hard with this one. I mean, we already know who the team's uniform supplier is, what with the ginormous UA logos plastered on the fronts of the socks, the jerseys, the dugout jackets, [i'm willing to bet] the caps...and probably at the base of the neck on the back of the jerseys, too. Entirely too much logo creep.) *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
sacker12
I'm pretty sure that it is a stretch-mesh insert in the pants to add ventilation.

tBBP
USF is a UA school, and they do not have the wierd stripes.Okay wait--the "Bull-U" is on the white caps and batting helmets. Why the HELL is the FULL USF monogram on the BLACK caps?BTW...USF may not have the weird mesh inserts (those is the words I was lookin' for earlier), but they sho' got some weird-looking uniforms regardless. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||

They also have 2 green jerseys, one with the U on the left chest andone with the USF script.

Still MIGHTY
Pepperdine has this same slash at the knee. Its ugly. Sometimes UA just tries to hard.Funnily enough, I don't think they look that terrible on Pepperdine...In general they are horrible. Ugh.UA only ever did one thing work while... My high school's team issued shorts and tops we wore during work outs and under our unis. Thank god we never let them near our uniforms. | ANA | LAA | LAR | LAL | ASU | CSULB | USMNT | USWNT | LAFC | OCSC | MAN UTD |
