I'm not getting into a pissing contest with you. I know my Browns suck. In fact it was good for them to lose to the Lions for draft positioning. I was just stating that if the Bengals want to be considered an elite team they got to win against teams like that.

How many teams do you know of that has trouble finishing off teams? The Arizona Cardinals this and last year comes to mind.

Ummm....playing Lienart the entire second half had a lot to do with that.

There are times the Cards struggle in the final quarter with Warner at the helm.

Excellent. But you forgot a couple things so I took the liberty of a re-write. Hope you don't mind.

"Hi, my 1-9 team just lost to the Lions on a DPI call during a Hail Mary. My team also gave up 38 points to a Scott Linehan coached offense after leading 24-3 against a team that was 1-31 in their last 32 games. Your team is 7-3 and undefeated in their division. Despite your 7-3 team's loss today, they lost no ground at all because their closest competition in the division also lost to an inferior team. Considering the fact that my 1-9 team may be the worst team in NFL history and they wear really ugly pants on the road, I am in no position to ridicule any NFL team nor will I be in the foreseeable future and by future I am not talking years but decades or even centuries."

Minor point of order. Detroit was 2-30 over their last 32. :P

First the Giants, now the Rams. Warner's pulling a Heathcliff this year his entire career.

I don't think the Rams have ever beaten him.

Right you are. I was referring to the win over the Giants in addition to the win(s) over the Rams.

PittsburghSucks probably doesn't play for the Browns. The Browns are Randy Lerner's team and the "Cleveland Deal" is one of the dumbest things ever.

All I have to say is that the Ravens have to be the biggest underacheiving team this season. It's pathetic to not be able a Touchdown, especially when your defense is able to hold Peyton Manning to only 17 points. I said it at the begining of the year, this team was/is a #1 wide receiver away from being a true contender, but no one wanted to admit it. Instead of making an effort to get Anquan Boldin or Brandon Marshall over the offseason, they signed Foxworth (which was a waste of money as the secondary is still the worst part of the defense). Then I heard rumors about Dawayne Bowe at the trade deadline, instead we said the offense wasn't the problem it was the secondary. Now look the defense has finally adjusted to the new coordinator and the offense can't compete.

I hate to rant, but this is the most frustrating game to lose. The defense goes above and beyond what you ask of them and the offense can't get it down. Just one TD and I think we win this game.

You mean without the running back that got them this far?

This whole season reminds me of the week before the '06 NFC Championship game. Didn't know what to think, how to act...the Saints were in uncharted waters, somewhere they'd never been and no fan dared dream they'd go that season. Same this year. The SAINTS are 10-0? What's that like? Uh...well, I like it. Don't know much aside from that. B)

But - and it may seem odd to throw out encouragement to the TFoA's of the world - last year was a profound lesson in the ways of the NFL. Once you make the playoffs, the regular season doesn't mean jack. The Saints may go 13-3 or 16-0 for that matter and we fans will enjoy the ride but just ask last year's Titans what your regular season counts for in the playoffs. They were 13-3 and then one and done when it counted. On the flip side - and this is where the heretofore floundering Falcons come in - look at last year's Cardinals, who were sometimes downright pathetic in the regular season (remember that humiliating should-have-just-stayed-back-in-Arizona a**-kicking they took at New England?) but came out smokin' hot in the playoffs, enough to get one play away from a ring.

My ideal outcome pre-Super Bowl would be to kick Minnesota's a** in the NFC Championship. It would have a nice 'close the circle' feeling to it considering the Vikes spoiled the Saints' first playoff appearance with a 44-10 beatdown back in '87. :D

But however it happens, what's kept me afloat for many years as a Saints fan is my faith that every dog has its day. I hope my dog is finally about to have his.

I have been pondering who I would back in a potential Colts-Saints Superbowl. My natural inclination is usually to back the AFC team. (That my natural British support for the underdog growing up in the 80s and 90s). But the Saints are the natural underdogs of the NFL so my whole underdog thing comes in again. (Plus they share a nickname with my favourite soccer team!) And somehow the Colts have never been a team I am drawn to.

From the head: In the interest of trying to evaluate the teams objectively, I think the Colts are a smidge better, if for no other reason than their big game experience. But it'd be a great game.

From the heart: Such a matchup would be extremely weird for Saints fans. The Saints finally making the Super Bowl only to play against the son of Archie Manning, the face of the Saints franchise for so many years? Wow.

We'll see what the Saints are made of Monday night when they host the Patriots.

Things is gettin' a little dicey in Steelerland.

The health status of the Steelers' starting QB is as yet undetermined. What is determined, however, is that their backup QB, Charlie Batch, is now out for at least six weeks with a wrist injury. At worst, the Steelers just lost their top two QBs in the same game. This now puts the onus, at least in the short term, on Dennis Dixon, if Ben can't go. I don't know who their emergency QB is right now (though I bet Hines would be a viable candidate), but needless to say, this ain't looking too good right now. Hopefully Ben recovers, but that blow to the head did not look too good, so I don't know. Polamalu is also not certain to return for the next game.

All this going into a prime-time affair vs the Ravens, in Baltimore, this coming Sunday night. Knowing how the Ravens' D plays, I can only imagine they're busy licking their chops right about now. Their reputation preceeds them, but they better not get too overzealous...that's been their undoing as of late.

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

This season's Oakland Raiders team is impossible to figure out. How does this team get killed by terrible opponents, yet pull out wins vs good teams the way they do? It's almost as if they have the talent to be a really good team, but just can't find the motivation.

I've always wondered what went into a pissing contest/pissing match.

Is it a multipart competition based on speed, distance, accuracy, volume? Are there a team of judges who will evaluate the color, consistency, and fragrance? Is there some kind of a pissing match tournament at the end of the season in which the top pissers converge and show off how well they can piss? If I drink vitamin enhanced water, would I be cheating? Actually, I've got to go piss right now, so does that mean I'm off to practice? Is there a pissing match training regimen? If I get in a pissing match, I need to make sure that I am in the pissing zone!

Dennis Dixon was a good QB at Oregon, but if the Steelers have to rely on him next week they are huge trouble. They need to get Willie Parker and Mendenhall cranked up and fast.

One version of a 'pissing' contest that happened in the school I went to was basically how far up thew wall could you piss. Fairly gross really, but when you are 13 and bored, and want to pretend to be a man, I guess anything will keep you amused!
