Steve-O
I think it is a great idea for the logo and well executed, I am just not big on the colors at all.
paynomind
Good gravy. The colors are horrible. The base, elemental concept is tolerable, but the execustion overall is bad, bad, bad. Steve-O
I just wish they'd change the colors and make it look professional. I know it's supposed to be happy and peaceful with all the happy fun fun colors but it just looks sick. If they changed to a good color scheme it would be great! I wouldn't mind the olympics in NYC. That'd be crazy.
zer0dotcom
It looks like an activity day logo for a high school honestly...or something out of the 80s...it is an excellent idea, the execution is not professional enough IMO for an event on the scale of the Olympics

Shmee
The official and historical colors of New York City are blue and orange, which is why both the Knicks and Mets wear those colors. I'd love to see the Olympic logo for NYC in those colors, so that it more closely reflects the city. The logo looks too disjointed to me, and the color scheme is awful. DEAD!
Isn't it appropriate, a New York logo with the arms held up? I saw, I came, I left.

Thad
I love itits something about crooked boxes that i love that's for Athens for procrastinating, do they have a logo yet? NickSixers
Here's the Athens logo.I like the NYC logo, but dont like the choice of colors for the boxes. However, the colors that they used are the olympic colors. Orange, while it would look distinctive, isnt an olympic color. That said, I'd rather see red as the color for the left box. Would make it look American looking too. Maybe they didnt want that.
WideRight
Remember that this is the NYC Bid Logo, not the one they would use for the Olympic games if they were chosen. Each bid committee has a logo and then the winning city goes back to square one and creates a whole new logo package.OT Question: IF NY won the Olympic bidding, do you think they would make the marathon route the same as the NY Marathon? And would the new "Exhibition sports" (each Olympic game gets a couple) be kvetching or schlepping?
the_cynic
That's just the bid logo though. They always change the official logo after a city officially receives the Olympics.
