As usual, Bros, sorry if this has been posted.

First is an Ebay link for a 1960 Oakland Raiders sideline coat, look at the asking!

Second is a 1970's Biletnikoff Alternate that was considered by the Raiders, but shelved.

I have a hard time believing the second link is legit. If any team considered an alternate in the 1970s... which is highly unlikely in and of itself... the Raiders would be pretty far down that list. Knowing what I do about Al Davis, it's more likely that he'd have tried to sue the league so they could wear their black jerseys for every game.

If that guy thinks he's getting six figures for the jacket, he's nuts.

I have yet to see a grey jersey look good. Simply looks dirty, old, etc.

I disagree. I think gray looks great - both football and basketball. Silver looks dirty (see Patriots, New England.)

The gray jersey alone isn't half bad. But paired with the Raiders silver pants? EPIC FAIL.

BTW, the jersey apparently sold for under a G. If the guy with the jacket thinks he'll get six figures for it, then I have a bridge I'd like to sell him.

That's what makes me very skeptical that the jersey is an authentic prototype. Monochrome wasn't fashionable at the time (wasn't considered a "pro" look), so Al Davis would have had to introduce black pants. What's the likelihood that a proposed jersey and pants would have gone unreported until now?

How can you have a 'game worn prototype'?

We have a situation like that with the Packers right now. Some players have been wearing the new jerseys the NFL is testing, but they aren't standard yet.

If Davis had one player take the field in a pre-season game to test out a proposed new jersey, then I think it would fulfill both parts.

Thanks for the Uniwatch update...

OHenry, uniwatch picked this up?

Willie

haha yea actually... Two interesting Raiders-related items were recently posted on the Chris Creamer board: a prototype alternate jersey (seems fishy to me, but someone paid $861 for it) and an extremely overpriced but nonetheless gorgeous Jim Otto sideline jacket
