NJTank
Amazing that should give Carmello soem Rookie of the Year consideration considering LeBron is going to be wacthing the playoff on TV with that Lil Penny ripoff drinking Sprite. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com

NJTank
I actually still feel they should split the award this year, but if I had a gun to my head saying pick one or the other it would be Melo. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
See Red
i don't see it. Carmelo led his team to the playoffs in the MUCH more difficult Western Conference. The Trail Blazers game should have locked it up for him.Rookies aren't supposed to make fade away jumpers with 3 seconds left and the season practically on the line to send the game into OT. Carmelo played HUGE when he had to. And Carmelo got his team into the playoffs, Lebron didn't.
BigEd76
For the first time in 20+ years, the Jazz and Blazers aren't going to the playoffs... What a year. The Nuggets, Grizzlies, Heat and Knicks are in the playoffs, while the Jazz, Blazers, 76ers, Raptors and Magic are headed to the lottery... Phil
The stats favour LeBron, and his team was worse. Carmelo plays in the tougher conference with better results.I also think the fact that LeBron is the unquestioned leader of his team, whereas Carmelo was not so much thrust into the role will favour LeBron.I expect them to split the award. If I had a gun to my head, I'd probably be too scared to say anything, and die as a result. A morbid thought for bedtime.
the_cynic
I guess it's time to change my signature. Well as you all know, I hate the Denver Nuggets but as much as I hate them I'll still take my hat off for their efforts. It's been a long time coming for them Portland, and Utah. As we all know in sports, at some point a streak has to end. I'm just sad to see the Jazz steak end at 20. I still can't believe we're heading to the lottery for the first time ever too! I look forward to having Minnesota pounce the Nuggets in the first round though!Go Mailman! the_cynic
Carmello for ROY!!! I'd be very surprised if Carmelo wins the ROY! There's a good chance for a tie but not for him winning it all out. See Red
The stats don't favour Lebron at all. And ask anyone... Carmelo is the leader of the Nuggets just as much as Lebron is for the Cavs. 'Melo made the shots he needed to keep his team in a playoff spot... whereas Lebron limped along with the Cavs down the stretch. Why else would Carmelo have been given the ball to shoot with 3 seconds left and the season on the line?Bottomline... Carmelo made the playoffs in the tougher conference. Carmelo played as well as ANY player in the league down the stretch for the Nuggets. He put up career highs when the Nuggets needed him to do that. If he doesn't get the Rookie of the Year... it'll be a bigger injustice than Garnett being screwed on the MVP voting last year.Don't be so quick to count out the Nuggets in this series. Will they win it? Odds are they won't. But the Nuggets are playing on the casinos money. The Nuggets don't have the enormous weight on their back that is having never gotten out of the first round, despite being a face that is often seen in the Playoffs. The Nuggets are very good at home and can pull out wins on the road. If the Nuggets get out on the break, watch out.Let's not forget... the Nuggets didn't barely make the playoffs because they struggled against good teams. The Nuggets played very well against good teams... it was the bad teams they struggled against. Nuggets weren't supposed to get here, so there pressure is next to none. Not to mention, Denver will be a tough atmosphere for the T-Wolves to play in because the city is beyond the Nuggets now just as they have been behind the Broncos and Avalanche. See Red
Hey... people brush em' off like they're no threat to the T-Wolves. Let's not forget the T-Wolves didn't play the best basketball after the all star break and the Nuggets haven't struggled against good teams. And if Camby plays like he did against the Kings... it won't be so easy for the T-Wolves.
