Can we begin calling the Predators the "Timberwolves" yet?

I was really rooting for Nashville. That's a shame.

and now it will be Chicago-Vancouver and San Jose-Detroit/Phoenix in the western conference

and

the east is dependent on Washington-Montreal. If the Canadiens win game 7 then it will mean that the 6, 7, and 8 seeds all won their first round series, which would be pretty typical in Pittsburgh's quest to be the luckiest city in Sports.

a Capitals win and they would play the Flyers while the Penguins would play the Bruins

I believe "Grizzlies" to be more appropriate.

Grizzlies lost twelve straight games and disappeared off the basketball planet. The Timberwolves were just consistent first round outs.

Exhausting evening of television-watching, odd as that may sound. Predators played a hell of a series. They're still not very talented, but damned if they don't keep themselves in it. Fist bump to my Nashville counterparts.

Not sure if I can do this twelve more times. Probably won't have to, since the only beatable team left in the West is San Jose, but let's see.

My Blue Jackets are more like the Grizzlies or the Bobcats because none of us have ever won a playoff game. The T-Wolves lost in the first round 7 consecutive years before they ever advanced. I think the Preds have been to the playoffs 5 times and have never made it out of the first round though they've never been swept.

Alright, Canucks-Blackhawks part 2! I'm more scared of the Canucks this year though. My crystal ball is predicting physical, dirty series......I doubt it :P:hockeysmiley:

I hope game 7 is a 5 OT brawl for Phoenix and Detroit. Both teams I think San Jose is capable of beating if they pull their heads out of their asses. BIG if, though.

It ought to be a phenomenal series. Just as long as we can avoid playing Andrew Alberts too much.

Edit: But can you hope to contain a dancing Kesler?

I hope so. Seeing a round 2 for the first time would be amazing. Should be a crazy game tomorrow. I hope the time of the game is fair to everyone involved.

Coyotes beat the Red Wings 5-1 in a total squash match. Mike Knox's beard made an appearance.

San Jose has been capable of beating ANYONE over the past five years. I don't think I'll ever quite figure out why they leave their bags at home for the second round, but they do, and this year will be the same as it always is. Book it now: Red Wings/Coyotes winner over the Sharks in 6.

If the Canucks go back to their goading ways, the Blackhawks will make Roberto Luongo cry oily tears for a third time.

Yes, Andrew Ladd took no part in any of those shenanigans.

I do agree that Luongo looks like a complete Dago, however. I half expect him to wear a Fedora during post-game interviews while answering every question asked of him with "I don't know 'bout nothin, see!?"

Although the city of Vancouver will implode if the Canucks lose in the 2nd round again, there will be no shame. These are two very evenly matched teams, especially with Willie Mitchell still sitting out with a broken brain and the Chicago defense uttering a collective "woops!" every 4 or 5 minutes in the post-season.

Again, it'll probably be the most exciting series in the second round. The twins will not be stopped.
