FiddySicks
Man, what a great feeling. Beating Detroit is easily one of the best sports related feelings inthe world. Gonna celebrate tonight for sure. I'm proud of these guys, they had opportunities to flame out and haven't yet. Now bring on Chicago/Vancouver. The_Admiral
Umm, did Versus really just have an ad for 1-900-SEXXY-TALK during this game?I think it was 1-800-HOT-GRRL, but yeah, that was there. This is the way things have to be. Congrats to the Sharks for vanquishing the Wings. I hope my team will meet them in the next round. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

Jigga
When can we stop calling the Sharks playoff chokers?Seriously? They've won 2 series...how many times have they choked in years past? A whole hell of a lot more than 2, that's for damn sure. On January 16, 2013 at 3:49 PM, NJTank said: Btw this is old hat for Notre Dame. Knits Rockne made up George Tip's death bed speech. The_Admiral
I'd only consider 2004, 2008, and 2009 chokejobs in earnest. They were a 5 in '06 that ran into Hot Goalie Action, and they were a 5 in '07 that ran into the first place Wings. The other three are big disappointments, and anything before that is ancient history as far as the composition of this roster is concerned. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫
charger77
I think you could call 2007 a choke. Up a goal late in game 4 about to go up 3-1 in the series, Marleau misses the empty net, Lang ties it then Schneider in OT. Then they get bombed in game 5 the again in game 6.They really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in that one. Why do the Sharks get more scrutiny than others?Because of the relatively early and spectacular nature of the choke jobs, probably. JACK IS CONSTRUCTION
I thought for sure Detroit was gonna score. How did they not score with 6 on 4?And Canadiens will push a game 7, I hope. oddball
Good for the Sharks. It should be a good series whomever they play in the next round. I think to those who KNOW hockey, they will no longer be tagged, "chokers". That can be left to the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs. I am perplexed by the many comments in this thread on losses because of scheduling. If you lost because of scheduling, then you didn't make the playoffs. If you're blaming a loss on the schedule, then you need to go back and read and watch "Hockey 101" where it states that you lose because the other team played better than you did and if you're blaming a loss on the refs or the schedule, then stop your whining." RedRenesis
The 'scheduling losses' is a running gag from several pages back. The Sharks clearing themselves of the choking label, not quite yet, but they're close.
