See Red
Seattle is still a completely different, and considerably less intimidating, team on the road.Good thing they have 5 of the next 8 at home. Is the Rams defense really that good or did the Hawks just not take them as seriously as they should have?I have a feeling the NFC will come down to whichever team gets home field between Seattle and New Orleans. Jimmy!
And Drew's Crew comes to town for a Monday night game.SF concerns me. Seattle still needs to win down there. I did not know that. Should be a good one!SF is a threat with Kaepernick playing considerably better, but I'm not sure... I think a good defense can shut him down. STL FANATIC
Rams win that game by three scores if Bradford plays. But this is the life of a Rams fan now. When your team actually improves, injuries derail things.Atmosphere in the Dome was great, though. Half-empty as expected with a World Series game going on in the same city as MNF for the first time ever. But not the least bit quiet. It was rocking in there. Giants beat Washington 27-20 the same night as the Mets won Game 7. But then Shea and Giants Stadium aren't exactly in the same neighborhood, so does that really count? STL FANATIC
I suppose that depends. I had read that on Twitter, and it presumably came from somewhere more official. I'm assuming that while that's the same "market" it's not the same state let alone city (let alone neighborhood—though I don't know how literally you meant that), so it doesn't pass.Still, good point. Jimmy!
Yeah, you're right. East Rutherford is not New York. It's funny that this hasn't happened until now. At the risk of channeling Uncle Rico, had the NFL strike of '82 not happened, would we have seen the St. Louis Football Cardinals or the Packers play on a Monday night in October? STL FANATIC
PFT wrote an article about this, but I'll just echo it.The NFL should probably do some more planning ahead to avoid this. Just don't schedule TNF, SNF, or MNF games in baseball cities with teams who are frequently in the playoffs in October. There's no perfect system of course, but some simple guesswork could go a long way. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
FiddySicks
Didn't this same issue nearly come to a head in Denver the last time the Red Sox were in the World Series? Kramerica Industries
Very good stuff. You're right - if there had been a Game 5 in that series, then the Rockies and Broncos would've both been playing in Denver on Monday, 10/29.

STL FANATIC
Have the Rams always had that generic-looking "ST. LOUIS" script in their endzoneI think that started last year.I think they did that for like one game last year, then decided to do it again this year. I hate it.It's cool they're trying to hook fans with with their city pride (unless it's disingenuous, then it sucks), but it's so dull. HedleyLamarr
To me, it kinda had the feel of "Make St. Louis look plain and dull, we're not gonna bother investing much thought in the endzones until the team moves".......
