Super League Hockey---- Millionaires and Governors

Ok then. I'll give examples as the playoffs are now, with the higher ranked team winning each matchup.

Byes go to 4 division winners in round 1, 4 teams from each conference seeded. 3rd seed plays 6th, 4th against 5. This means that #3 Calgary and #4 Thunder Bay win. Superiors will now, as the lowest seed remaining, will play the highest seed in their own conference, the LA Blockbusters. Calgary faces off with Winnipeg, as the 2-3 series. Both of the series are 7 gamers. New York and Boston also advance. Boston plays Montreal and New York takes on Ottawa. 7 gamers lead to LA, Winnipeg, Montreal and Ottawa winning. Next, the 2 remaining teams in each division are reseeded E1, E2, W1 W2. E1 will play W2 in a mini 3 game series. W1 will take on E2 in a 3 gamer as well. Winners of those games play each other for a chance to go to final, another 3 gamer. The 2 losers will face off in a 3 gamer again, loser being eliminated, winner getting a second chance, vs Winners' game loser. Complicated, but this is done to ensure that the 2 best teams are in the championship 7 game series are the best 2, regardless of conference. Make sense?

In the NHL, you need to win 16 playoff games. Here, even a team without a bye in the first round can win a minimum of 15, and a team with a 1st round bye, a minimum of 12.

I can make a graphic, probably a graphic sorta thing to help explain it.

Round 1, Game 1. You would have never expected what happened here. Let's take a look.

Our 4 home-ice advantage teams have all lost their home ice advantage. That's right, ALL 4 lower ranked team pick up game 1 on the road.

Red Birds winning seems to be anything but a surprise these day, as they have been playing extremely well, in an attempt to get into the playoffs. Well, they're here, and are 2 wins from a date with the LA Blockbusters. Red Birds winning, on the other hand, is quite the surprise. Calgary has been right on pace with Chicago over the past little bit. The first two periods of this game showed that this series would indeed be a very tough one for both teams. The Birds and Scouts, both score 1 apiece in the first 2 frames. The 3rd started with a HUGE 5on3 kill by Chicago. This would indeed be the turning point, as just a few minutes later, Chicago would score the game winner, and would ice it with an empty netter later on in the period. The Scouts will attempt to get redemption, and avoid digging themselves a BIG hole later tonight, again in Calgary. Then Chicago will be the host of game 3, game 4 if necessary, and if we get to game 5, we'll be back in beautiful Alberta.

The Superiors did indeed play very well in their game against their rivals to the West. The Millionaires traveled to T-BAY riding about .500 in their past little bit. The two teams have know that they will be playing in round 1 longer than any other teams, so they've had a bit of time to size up the opponents. As I said earlier, Thunder Bay really did play a good game, it was really just careless mistakes that gave Vancouver the win. In period #1, Thunder Bay got off to a great start, outshooting Vancouver 13-2 in the first 10 minutes. Pretty conservative play by both teams, with a lack of chances. With just under 2 minutes to go in a so far scoreless first period, a horrific giveaway at their own blueline by the Superiors gave Vancouver a 3on1, in which they capitalized on, giving them a 1-0 lead going into the 2nd. A superiors tying goal would be erased moments later, on a power-play caused by a delay-of-game penalty. Millionaires would cap off the game with a 3rd with a 3rd goal. Thunder Bay will host game 2 as well.

ThePeam has spoken. Halifax did infact beat New York, as per his prediction. In the highest scoring of the 4 games, Halifax wiped out a 3-0 Empire lead, to take game 1 in the Big Apple. A big 3rd period propelled the Halifax Titanic to the victory. Halifax is now only 2 wins away from knocking out the defending champions from NYC. This game wasn't reflective at all to Halifax's goaltending situation, in which arguably the best goalie in the SLH allowed 4 goal. Thankfully for Halifax, they scored enough to get the W and a 1-0 series lead. New York will attempt to avoid digging their own grave, aka going down 2-0, tonight, at home again.

Make the road teams 4 for 4. Washington, who were partly expected to win this series took the 1-0 lead against Boston. 2 second period goals within 56 seconds of each other gave Washington a lead that they did not let up. We''ll be in Beantown for game 2, followed by a trip to the capital for at least 1. This series is expected to be air-tight.

Playoffs matchday 2. Gonna try to keep this one short.

Here, we saw 2 series get tied up, and 2 more go to a 2-0 strangle-hold.

Playoffs2_zpsfb2eef72.png

Calgary make it obvious that they aren't falling apart now. 1-1.

Millionaires stun Superiors again, giving Vancouver 2 attempts to close it out on home ice. 2-0 Van.

Another big Titanic win puts them 1 win from a date with the Montreal Espions, and the defending champs being eliminated. 2-0 HFX.

Great hard-hitting game goes to an Intense overtime. It took 19 and a half minutes of extra time, but the Teamen tie it up, headed to DC for 2 games.

Please Enjoy!

Let's go Power! IMO, has the best logo in the league.

Thx! Another playoff matchday upcoming, we'll see if the Power, among others can take a commanding 2-0 lead.

EDIT: Yay! page 50!

Is the font you used for the power "Indiana"?

That's the one. I made a comment about this font INA mother thread as well somewhere.

C'mon Chicago!

After their 1-8-1 start (or something like that), (make that 2-7-1) I'm sure they'd take a 1-1 tie in a series against one of the league's best teams going back to their home ice. Getting interesting for the Birds.

Playoff Matchday 3.

Playoffs3_zpsa588814c.png

The Red Birds, back home, take game 3 from the Scouts. They'll host game for with a chance to wrap up the series, and set up a matchup of the 2 teams with the most fans here on the boards.

Thunder Bay stays alive 1 more, with a very exciting overtime win. Millionaires have 2 more chances.

Get out your brooms people. I can't imagine many people saw the Kings of the SLH, defending champions, New York Empire, be killed like this. Halifax advances to a date with the Montreal Espions, who they face 12 times this regular season. Expect one of those head-to-head graphs soon.

A great goaltending performance in the capital for the visiting team. The Teamen pick up a shutout, the win, and a 2-1 lead going into game 4 in Washington. Winner of the series will play against the team from Canada's capital, the Ottawa Governors.

This could be hard to see, but heres a bracket for this year'S SLH playoffs.

Bracket_zpsfbf92851.png

Shouldn't be too difficult to understand. Letters beside the matchup bracket is the series name, such as W2, West playoff series 2. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Enjoy!
