I think we can safely call LeBron the greatest NBA Finalist of all time, but not the greatest player.

It's interesting, the difference between LeBron and Brady here. There isn't much of one, in that they're both generational talents in the argument for best ever who defy aging and don't seem to die unless you cut their heads off. The biggest difference I can see between them is that one of them is nice to Donald Trump and the other is mean. LeBron is part of our tribe and Brady isn't.

Another thing to consider- LeBron has made 7 straight NBA Finals and is 9-1 in the East Finals.

Brady has never made more than 2 consecutive Super Bowls. Even amidst this current streak of 7 straight AFC CG’s, he’s only 4-3. Throw in that 2006 AFC CG loss and 3 SB losses.

Brady making an AFC CG is predictable, but he doesn’t ALWAYS WIN (ask Denver and Flacco).

with LeBron, it has seemed routinely inevitable.

hell, Brady had a 9 year stretch (2005-2013) when he won 0 Lombardi Trophies and played in only 2 SB’s for about a decade .

LeBron's a phony asswipe.

How? Lebron speaks his mind probably more than any other super star athlete ever has and that can rub some people the wrong way, but how is he a “phony asswipe”? And even if he was, why does that even matter? On top of being at least top two all time, the dude is an absolute model citizen. No record, very family oriented and you never hear anything negative about his home life, is one of the hardest working athletes I have EVER seen, ect. What the hell more do people want from these guys?

Seriously. The Warriors, Lebron, and now the Rockets are the only not worthless parts of this league. Why should they be indicted for everyone else sucking?

The Rockets legit made it a mission to gun for the Warriors to the point where their GM said that he was completely obsessed with beating. the Warriors. You know what the majority of the rest of the league did? Bitched about how it was too hard. I can’t stand the Rockets but I respect the hell outta what they’ve done. I thought there was ZERO shot they would compete, and they’ve gone about as nuts as they can.

This is EXACTLY what you want to see in sports. Teams take on the challenge, step up their game, and match. Born sut back and whine about how every Me else is making it too hard.

That's not really fair. Other teams are trying. The Jazz are building something, the Pelicans have improved, and even They the North tried to win, bless their maple-soaked little hearts. Not every team can have a Kevin Durant or Chris Paul join them to instantly make a super team; there aren't enough superstars to go around. What are other teams supposed to do in a league where you need multiple generational players just to be competitive?

How is that not fair? That’s how it goes in the NBA. The Warriors were dog crap for DECADES. Any team could conceivably do what they did (granted they had a TON of luck, as everyone wants to point out). But like half the league is looking at the current situation and basically just folding.  There were more teams tanking for draft positioning this year than pretty much ever before. Blame them for how trash the league is. Teams like the Jazz, Raptors, and Pelicans are great because they’re trying to build despite losing guys to bigger destinations and the fact that there is a lot of consolidated talent.  :censored:, even the Kings backed their way to success at one point. All this talk about how the Warriors are “ruining basketball” comes across as salty as can be.

Bucfan56:

It's not so much the Warriors that annoy me as the possibility of THE SAME MATCHUP 4 STRAIGHT TIMES that the Warriors would be involved.

If anything, I've lamented the lack of Warrior dance partners in June.

Boston/Golden State is WAY more interesting than LEBRON VS. GOLDEN STATE RERUN. That has a lot of dynamics (New fresh faces in June, young guys who don't know better, Brad Stevens getting a chance to coach against an all-time team.... oh, and did I forget to mention Boston and Golden State in the last few years have given us some memorable games?) They have roughriders and have length/youth/athleticism, which the Cleveland 30-something don't.

Believe me, if I can get rid of only one of them, I'd want the Cavs gone ASAP. Cleveland is the team I can't stand moreso.

And we can only hear so many times every June about what a god LeBron is.

Plus, Steph Curry's November prediction might be proven correct:

Except most of the league isn't actively trying to be trash. The Western Conference playoff race was tighter than it's been in a long time, Anyone from the 4 to 10 seed could have realistically made or missed the playoffs. Saying the majority of teams in the league are tanking just isn't true. The competition is there; it just doesn't matter when the postseason actually starts because we know what's going to happen. A lot of teams are trying to win, and just because they can't beat the greatest team of all time doesn't mean they're trash.

Cavs annoy me far more than The Warriors.

Can't really hate GS because they did everything right as far a "rebuilding" (aside from getting Durant).

Cavs are legitimately only here because they have the real life cheat code called Lebron.

Not to mention any Finals matchup with The Cavs is going to just be a repeat of 07.

But if they signed other stars to go along with him and became more than "just Lebron", they'd be killed for being a "superteam" or for killing all the other teams like the Warriors have been doing for years.

Sports fans can be the worst people some times.  They just hate things, try to justify their hate, then adjust the narrative as necessary to re-justify their hate after it's no longer valid.

Like I said, I don’t have much of a problem with The Warriors. They earned where they are.

Cavs are only there because of Lebron.

If he had a “superteam” that didn’t solely rely on him, I’d be less miffed.

This is so dumb. Teams have three options to build teams: the draft, free agency and trades. Every teams uses what's available when it's available to assemble its roster. The Cavs are lucky LeBron is from Akron. The Warriors were lucky that a.) Curry signed his last big deal following an injury and b.) the cap jumped right at the time Durant was a free agent.

You're "miffed" by a fact that a team that isn't yours has a player you wish you had. That's it.

Nope.

I’m miffed because a team that honestly has no busses In The playoffs, let alone the ECF, is there only because of one player.

Take Durant or Curry off The Warriors, they’re still a championship contending team.

Take Lebron off The Cavs, they’re lucky to win 30 games, let alone make the playoffs.

If Harden wasn't on the Rockets, the Rockets wouldn't be in the WCF. If Superman wasn't sent to earth, he wouldn't be Superman. If gravity didn't exist, we'd all float into space. If candy didn't taste good, people wouldn't eat it.

I don't understand what exactly you think professional sports are supposed to be.

Last i checked professional sports were supposed to be a team effort.

Not one mediocre team relying solely on one player to carry them to The Championship.

One exception- In 2012, we saw an 8 seeded hockey team relying heavily on a hot goalie to carry them, and sure enough.... Stanley Cup.

Isnt this basically the exact same reason people hate the Warriors so much?

It's the same reason people hate every winning team. We all wish we were Patriots and Real Madrid fans but we have to settle for hating instead. Otherwise we're deluding ourselves.

If you want my list of why I don't like the Warriors, I'm happy to share:

- Steph is great

- Klay is great

- Draymond has moments of greatness

- Steve Kerr is a great coach

- They got Durant as a glitch in the system. Durant is also great. Second best player in the league. They didn't need him and the NBPA's shortsightedness built the current roster

- The organization is doing Oakland wrong

- The fans that can afford the games are the worst

- The team is a top five drafting organization. That they got Jordan Bell for a song is criminal

- Zaza ruined Kawhi Leonard and Warriors fans (some) pretend he didn't

- I wish they had played the Spurs in 15 or 16

- I don't like their uniforms. Colors are good. Uniforms are dumb

That's my list. And all of that would be forgiven if they were called the Seattle Supersonics and played in my local municipality.

LOL.  Professional sports are supposed to be entertainment.  The whole premise of professional sports is that people would pay money to watch players play a sport.  It's not supposed to be a team effort.  It's supposed to get people to watch.  That's literally the guiding principle of the industry, so I'm not sure where you get the feeling that the way the game is played has anything to do with it.

I think you'd be better off watching amateur sports, if you legitimately care about the "sport", or "fundamentals".  I'll continue to watch the best player(s) in the world do moves that I could never in a million years do, regardless of whether they position correctly or pass it to all five players 20 times during a possession.  I'm not buying a ticket to watch some boring ass team fundamental the other teams to death.  I am going to buy a ticket to see a player that can do a flip in mid air and pass the ball between his legs.
