BrySmalls
I like your first sketch of the Carolina primary logo, but this set I'm a bit disappointed in as there are only minor tweaks to the uniforms instead of an overall design. Now I'm going out on a limb here, but when I think of hurricanes striking the Carolina coast, I imagine shipwrecks and other destruction of properties. Therefore developing a different logo and implementing it on the jerseys would be interesting to see as a concept.
speedy
Love the Hurricanes concept, except the shoulder patch. But seriously, this is absolutely perfect. There's a lot of flaws in the current design but one of the biggest is their inability to coordinate all of the stripes. You did a great job fixing that. Nice work. The unis will likely change based on however the logo package finally comes out. But I am interested in your idea... sort of a Graveyard of the Atlantic thing... I'll see if it goes anywhere. But in the interest of moving this along and posting some of the concepts that I've had finished for weeks... dgnmrwrw
#7: Chicago BlackhawksEverything here is basically a standardization and modernization. I know a lot of people say don't touch the Hawks' crest, that all the different colors are fine. I actually tend to agree, but I also wanted to try my hand at eliminating the 'unnecessary' colors (I know this has been done DOZENS of times, but I gotta do the Hawks to advance, so...). I think it works. I also gave them a new unique typeface for names and numbers. The shoulder patch and alternate crest are also just updates. For the unis, it was about using a single, standard striping pattern throughout: Red / White / Black / White / Red. It simplifies the home sweater a bit, but you know I'm a whore for consistent striping. HURRICANES | PANTHERS | WHITE SOX | WOLFPACK
chickenfish13
I love that logo! Some people may not, but I think it is very well executed. The feathers are nice, and the face looks good too. The only thing is he looks kind of sad, but other than that it's phenomenal. dribbble
elliott
I don't care for the font anywhere in this concept, but that crest is damn beautiful. Dribbble ... Behance
sergeimakarenkov44
I think the font looks pretty good with everything there. The only thing wrong I see with it is it looks like something you'd see at an Irish pub. haha
Patchey13
Yeah, the font is my only gripe here.Great work bringing a timeless logo into the 21st century ( I know I contradicted myself )

Brendan
Carolina: I like the Hurricane you used in the last two sketches but just without the CH. I'm not really feeling the jerseys, I've always felt that if the Hurricanes are gonna use the flag pattern it needs the be on the sleeves as well. There also needs to be more white added to the hem stripes, or eliminate white on the jerseys and just use silver. I know you didn't add the number font yourself but I've never been a fan of the italic font. Chichago: Just go back to good ole font the Blackhawks currently use and you'll have a perfect concept. undead
I like your Hawks modernization better than I like my own. You said I stole your thunder but you brought your own. The only nitpick I have is the feathers. I don't think the 3 red/white feathers should be together. When I look at them, it creates an optical illusion that makes them all look like one entity. I looks like the red makes a smooth transition from the bottom of the first to the top of the second and back to the bottom of the third(kind of like a sine curve). Maybe you could swap the third feather with the yellow feather. Other than that, excellent!I've really enjoyed this series thus far. I hope you have the will to stick it out to the end. dyse
This concept is almost perfect but, you have to change the font to the blackhawks current font like everyone is saying. If you do that I could definitely see the blackhawks wearing this set.
Bmac
Wow, I love that Blackhawks set. That modernization is one of the better ones I have seen. That looks great. The jerseys look very clean and classic. The alternate looks great. I really like the logo you used there. Great job on all of this! https://www.behance.net/bmatukewic8043
dgnmrwrw
Thanks to all for the feedback. I must say I'm a little sad that the main gripe seemed to be with the new typeface... it was my favorite part. But if the overwhelming consensus is that it needs to go, then go it shall. I just hate to lose it.undead, you're right that there's a strange pattern in the feathers. It's one of the advantages that the current Hawks' logo has: with all those colors, you aren't going to see many patterns emerge. I think it's like the problem of national borders on a world map; how do you keep the same colors from touching if you can only use a few different colors? The reason I did it this way was to try to balance all the gold on the left half of the jersey with some gold on the far right, and I also wanted two white feathers in there to brighten it up (I didn't want the far right feather to be white because then it would look odd on the white jersey). So it's a delicate problem. I'll try some different combinations and post them.Hopefully, an update before the end of the day. dgnmrwrw
Couple of quick updates/sketches:HurricanesI know the logo is still not there yet, but I think I'm going in the direction of the one pictured below. To me, it best signifies what I wanted to show: sharp lines, and frantic rotation. I'm showing it with a couple of stripe ideas. I'm leaning towards the first one, because it looks cleaner and sharper to my eye. The second one has an almost mid-90's Whalers feel, which I'm not sure about. Thoughts?BlackhawksI tried to solve the color issue with the feathers, and I gave him back the small, signature smirk. It's subtle, but I think it's an improvement. I've also done a quick mock-up of the road jersey with the old block numerals. I still prefer the updated typeface because it's unique and has more "personality." But I wanted to get a few more opinions before I bite the bullet and make the switch. HURRICANES | PANTHERS | WHITE SOX | WOLFPACK
rentz
I guess I'm in the minority, and I don't have any knowledge about hockey history or tradition, but I love that updated script. And I love what you've done with the blackhawks logo.
logocruncher
This is amazing stuff. The consistent striping for the Blackhawks does wonders, and I love the clean look of the new logo. Really, really nice stuff. I like both number fonts, but I think I like the original (custom) one more, as it is unique and seems to fit the identity better. As for the new Hurricanes striping idea, that look great. Really clean, and an improvement over the comparatively bland one you originally had. I hope you go through with it! This is great stuff...
